Hi, I used to list my horses on classified sites and get very similar responses... IT IS A SCAM!!!!!! if a person is not willing to call you, then don't trust it, it is a way to hack into your information. I always post my phone number on anything I list so that I know for sure that they are a real person.... |
I'm glad that you're following your instincts, that guy sounds like a scammer! Oh, and "certified" bank checks CAN be faked, as well as money orders, so be careful;) |
Thanks for the information! I haven't replied and he hasn't emailed again. Unfortunately, we haven't gotten any more replies from anyone :( But I'll keep my fingers crossed! |

SCAM..SCAM...SCAM.!!!!! We posted a four wheeler on Craigs List, less than 24 hrs later I got an email saying "I want it, can you provide more info" I wrote back saying what more info do you need?? Never heard from them again! Also, I would only sell to someone who is in your area or the immediate area. We also said we would only accept cash! Anyone who is serious will not have any problem with that. I know of someone who took a certified check for a car, they were asking 26,000.00, this person went and got a certif.check for 26.00, somehow removed the ink with some sort of solution, and then wrote in 26,000.00. THEY GOT THE CAR AND HAVE NEVER BEEN SEEN AGAIN!! Just be careful, trust your gut feeling on things. Good luck!! |
I agree with everyone, SCAM. One thing a friend of mine does shen she lists anything in the classifieds, especially craigslist, "Cash or certified funds. First one with money gets the (item)." This way she doesn't have to wait for someone elses schedule and the buyer knows she's serious about selling the item. |
