Verizon Droid X or Verizon iphone4 ? Calling fellow Electronic Geeks :) I currently have the Droid X..love it. but I love electronics and I am fighting the urg to buy the iphone. For you electronic geeks like me....which do you prefer? Which is better? I do love the big screen on my Droid X. |
I love my iPhone! |
I just finally got an iPhone this past Christmas.... love it!! But then I've never had another kind of smartphone to compare it to. |
I love my iPhone, but I've never had a Droid for comparison. But you could always wait for the new iPhone to be released...I think it should come out this summer sometime. :) |
I do have to say though that my AT&T iPhone experience will be different that your Verizon iPhone experience. There have been many times that I've looked up stuff on-line while talking on the phone and that's specifically something you can't do with the Verizon version - which kinda stinks if you ask me. |

LOVE MY iPhone! Gonna get the upgrade this summer! |
I just got my Verizon iPhone last week. My daughter has the Fascinate and my sister has a Droid. Previously I had a Blackberry. The biggest issue that I had when I tried to activate the iPhone was upgrading my iTunes. There is a glitch in the programming and I kept getting an error message when trying to uninstall the 7.0 and reinstall the 10.2 version. It was a total nightmare. Verizon said it was an Apple issue and Apple said it was not their problem. The phone would not work without having the iTunes up to date. There was a fix online but that did not work when I tried to use it, then I took the laptop to the CompUSA and they worked on it for about an hour until they gave up and told me to just buy a new one  THREE days later I called in RoboYorkie (Remote Tek Support) who spent 4 hours trying to remotely fix the problem! Oh BTW~he's great!! I also was not able to use the iTunes to transfer my contacts and had to make a visit to the Verizon store. It was all a huge PITA! Now that it's finally fixed and I'm getting use to the touch screen I am really starting to like it but I have to admit there was a point that I thought I made a great big mistake. Also, all the APS that my daughter and sister have are free and I've had to spend money to get the same APS for my iPhone. |
The iPhone5 is coming out soon. I would wait if I were you... |
iPhone 5 should be out this summer, maybe in June. I'm also with Verizon, and that is what I'm waiting for. Just hope they won't delay due to lack of parts from Japan:confused: |

iPhone!!!! I am an Apple girl all the way. But I have AT&T. I wonder if they will do the same thing they did with the iPhone4 and let people get the new iPhone after 1year. I had purchased the 3GS and then one year later, the iPhone4 came out and they gave it to me at the upgrade price... |
I wonder if ATT and Verizon will get the new iphone 5 at the same time? |
I don't know, it's gonna be different with the AT&T/Verizon competition. I meant to add, my dad has the iPhone4 on verizon and loves it. No problems... he doesn't need the feature where you can do things on your phone and talk at the same time or whatever. I find it comes in handy a lot of times though for me. I was never a 'touch screen' person but the iPhone has always been soooo easy to use. I think it's super user friendly! I can never see myself owning any other phone for a long time anyways. I don't like the Droids that I've messed with. My stepmom hates hers now (she loved it at first). I used to have a Blackberry and it was alright but doesn't compare, IMO. I think it's all about what you are looking for in a phone... the iPhone is more fun than BB, I think. |

if you like your droid x i would wait for the new droid bionic that will be coming out soon it will be able to use the 4g network that verizon just launched....... but if your looking to get the iphone i would postpone in buying it until the new one comes out. I say to wait for the new iphone because the new iphone will be able to run on the 4g network. if you buy the iphone verizon has now you'll only be able to catch the 3g network and when the 4g comesout you are out of luck verizon will not upgrade your iphone and if you wanted 4g you would either have to get a line or buy the phone full price instead of the discounted 2 yr agreement. |
Well I am taking the plunge and bought the iphone. Holding onto my Droid until I decide 100% its going to work for me. But I saved my upgrade so if I want to upgrade to the iphone5 I will still be able. So we shall see. |
I was about to say Iphone all the way. Reason being, One of my very good friends works as a customer coordinator (corporate offices, she does not work at the store) for Verizon and has been with the company for 3.5 years... We both, hate the Droid X... while it is a nice phone, graphics and pixel quality is poor... and it is giant. I have the Droid Incredible right now and LOVE it super easy to use.. so far I am waiting for the new Iphone 5 next. What I have learned from her, Verizon is very hush hush and most of the employees don't know when the new Iphone will come out, I was told it would be really strange for Verizon not to launch the Iphone the same time AT&T did, money wise, and buisness wise... they would be dumb not too.. just a heads up:) |
OT, but I just bought an iPad 2 with 3G Verizon service. Squee!!!!! |

I talked to my techie guys at work who all had the iPhone and all ditched it for the Droid. They love the android phones and I have to say, my Droid 2 is pretty awesome! Then again Im a PC! LOL (you remember those commercials???) But I do want an iPad and aside from my iPod, it will be my only venture into the Apple product suite. |
