I missed the perfect shot! We just got home...parked the car in the driveway and about a minute later I looked out front and saw a squirrel laying flat out right behind our back tire. No, we didn't hit him! I went to get the camera and he was gone... I was going to take his picture and post 'squirrel scams caught on film'...I wonder if his lawyer will be calling me anytime soon?? LOL! |
Oh no! At least you didn't hit him!! I always "almost" hit squirrel 's they dart right in front of him, I always dodge them! I know one of these days I will hit one. I will always try not to!! Plus I drive a Corvette so I really wouldn't want Dh to have to clean that mess hahaha :D |
I'm so glad he was okay. I think squirrels are so cute, I love watching their little twitchy nature and when they clean with their little paws. I hope you don't hear from the squirrel's lawyer. |
Oh, that reminds me so much of a day long ago. A buddy and I were driving to school and a squirrel ran out in front of me. I didn't run over him but I heard him hit my wheel (I had a VW and he banged against the hubcap). Well, I stopped and checked on him. He was laid out in the street, not moving. We couldn't leave him like that so decided to 'put him out of his misery'. I got my lug wrench out and we were arguing over who would do the deed. I don't think either one of us had the heart to do it because we stood there....standing over the squirrel...debating it for a couple of minutes. Before we could decide on who would do it, the squirrel got up and ran off! He must have overheard us and thought, "Gee, I better get out of here. These guys are going to moidoilize me!!! :D |

Those squirrels can really mess with your mind!. I looked out the back door one day and spotted a squirrel spread out on the garage roof. We had very tall trees in our yard and I figured he had fallen out of one of them and come crashing down. I felt so bad for the poor little dead thing. Of course I had to get him off of the roof so I went in to the garage and got the ladder, leaned it up against the side of the garage and started my climb. When I got to the top of the ladder I saw that his eyes were open and following my movement. Of course that made me feel worse. The poor little thing was paralized! So down I climbed and went into the house for towels and a shoe box. Then back up the ladder. Very bravely I climbed out on to the roof and approached the poor little lame squirrel. As I reached to put the towel around his limp little body he shot off like a rocket. It scared the snot out of me and I almost fell off the stinkin roof trying to save a sunbathing rodent! Now don't get me wrong, I was really happy he was alright but I could have shot him there for a minute! |
