Thank you all who posted these kind words.

Yes, Joan and I are truly happy and even now, ten years later, I am deeply in love with her she is an amazing woman who makes me so so happy.

She is known to me as my "Little Yellow Rose Of Texas" and every birthday, anniversary or Valentines day I arrange for her to receive an enormous flower arrangement but there is ALWAYS a single yellow rose as a separate item.

True and deep love at 70 years old is not a gift....it is a blessing :love::love::love:

I love this story! Sounds like it came straight out of a fairy tale!

Hello everyone. I know this thread isnt new but I love it anyway.

I am 29 and a native to Denver, CO. I am very much into the arts and have devoted my entire life to making people feel good with my talents and training. I love singing, dancing and acting but found true love in cutting/coloring hair. I recently realized this gift and now I am a fresh out of school Cosmetologist. I also love to cross-stitch, and want to do a few yorkies for Eleanor's space. My education in crocheting is limited and I know my way around a sewing machine. I also have carpentry skills and advanced graphic design skills. I have used all my savings to insure Eleanor is taken care of but cant wait to build and sew for her!

I am also into tattoos, and piercings, goth clubs and metal concerts. I get along with everyone and believe in paying it forward and random acts of kindness.

Teresa Ford 10-03-2011 10:19 PM

My name is Teresa and I live in sunny Fl. I think I am one of the oldest members. I was born before color TV.and push button phones, I was old enough to remember John Glenn orbiting space, schools were not intergraded, most moms stayed home, and no one got pregnant in my senior class. Free Love, hippies, and pot all happened in College. We did Sit Ins and went crazy for awhile. I have read the entire thread. We are certainly a diverse group. I feel like I have lived at least 3 different lives.

Met my husband at OSU. married, moved to Fl., had 2 sons, I worked in Fine Jewelry Sales, wrote stories, did crafts. We raised and , trained dogs and was wonderfully happy on our little farm, for 26 years. Richard my husband got cancer. Our youngest child was away and in his 2nd year of college. Richard died after 3 years of horrific surgery and chemo. I kept it together and was strong all during his illness. When he died. I got very depressed. Somehow I lost about 3 years of time. I lost my home, our tuck and car,and the bank had zero money in the checking account. Everything I could carry I burnt in a bond fire in our pasture. I am blessed that my adult sons, did not have me committed. I basically ran away from home taking only Noah my Yorkie and a shopping bag of clothes. I lived in a hunting camp in a tiny camper, with no running water or electric. I cooked for the hunters and served their beer. I must have told my sister enough to find me. When my sister found out where I was, my sons came and got me. I got treatment and faced the fact I had to learn to live and make a life for myself. I lived with a friend. We went to dog shows and bred a few litters and I went back to work . I bought a sewing machine and began to make artist bears and we would do teddy bear and doll shows on week ends. My dear friend died from breast cancer. I kept going, one day at a time. I trained puppies and helped my sister with her dogs and grooming shop. I wrote short stories again and verse for cards. I was a widow for 10 years. Then I met my husband at a dog show. He had a wonderful Yorkie named Zacky. We got married in 2007. We are retired and spend most of our time with our dogs,my grown kids and grandchildren. I still write, craft and train dogs. I feel very blessed.

I to found this forum just last night and stayed up late and read the whole think..great way to get to know everyone.
My name is Ann I am 47 years old married my high school sweetheart been married for 28 years. Have two wonderful daughters who are 25 and 27. Both married to great guys. Oldest has given me two grand children. Lived in the town I was born in my whole life.
Always had big dogs. My youngest was severly attacked when she was four by my brothers dog. To this day we do not know why. The dog just attacked. Mind you this was a dog that had been around her lots and other children. She had no food no toys nothing. It was a black lab mix. We at the time had a stray lab that someone had dumped off after having pups and a smaller little black dog. We had to rehome them as she was terrified to go outside. Made us very sad on both accounts. Dh said no more dogs ever. We where at a friends house one day and they had just gotten a yorkie( this was like

three years since her last surgery). Dh said that's a cool little dog. I had my

friend call they had one left. Her and I ran to the store picked up all the stuff I would need and the puppy from a home. Did this all without telling dh. He thought it was there dog till he saw two.. Never said a word and that is how I found the love of a yorkie is like nothing else. We said it was her dog she was now 7. But he was our dog we named him Andrea's Okoboji's Buddy. A lake in our area is okoboji. We called him Boji. He was with us almost 13 years. I was so sad when we lost him. In the meantime we had started trucking cross country. Dh said no dogs. I was so lost I went one month.without never again . Thought I would try a different breed so went with the cairn. She is no yorkie but a great dog. Did the pet store purchase with her. Got lucky as she is very healthy and no problems. Talked hubby into a yorkie picked Lexi up in the truck in Texas found her on puppyfind. And Riley also picked up in the truck in Iowa another puppyfind purchase. They have had three litters have found amazing homes for all. Kept one Lily. Spayed and neutered Riley and Lexi. Lily gets spayed soon. Lost Lexi this summer. Hardest thing every I miss her each and everyday. So glad I have Lily.

Okay that's my dog history. I have worked in a fishing factory did many thing there. A four wheeler factory. Ordered parts. Owned and ran a bar restrauant. Have my cdl drove truck with dh. Now my youngest is managing a bar restraunt so I stay home and help her out as good employees are hard to find. This is the daughter who had gotten bite. She worked as a vet tech for three years and loves all animals. My dh dad was a vet we lost him many years ago. My parents are both alive and live close and in good health.

I have a very big love for horses and have had one since I was seven. We have seven between my daughter and me. They are like big dogs. Use to show but know just love to trail ride. Can not imagine never having one.

horsnaround 10-04-2011 06:41 AM

Sorry for the second post still trying to figure out how to go back up on my ipad. That is why there are spaces... I forgot to mention we do have an outside dog border collie husky mix we rescued from the pound. ( needless to say she is in when it's to hot out or cold) she will be 12 soon and is slowing down. I usually have my daughters cairn as she stays with me while they work. My other daughter has a silky and that is a whole mother long story...

I truly love this site and have learned a lot. Sorry for the book just wanted to share my dog history..

southernbelle04 10-04-2011 07:46 AM

How fun to learn about everyone! I'll have to go back and re-read this thread, but thought I'd post too.

My name is Aymee. I am 28 years old. I have been happily married to my high school sweetheart, Brandon, for 9 years. He is 30. We are originally from Alabama, but moved to Pennsylvania about 5 years ago for the hubby's work. I am a homemaker, or domestic diva as I like to say, at the present. My husband works for the railroad. At the present, we do not have any children. We have wanted kids for a really long time, but are dealing with infertility issues. It's me, not him. We have seen several reproductive endocrinologists and Brandon is in prime condition. The doctors are not sure what is causing our issues. So we will be trying injections to stimulate follicles in the future, but put that on the back burner for now. After years of negative pregnancy test, charting ovulation, and baby on the brain...I told him I needed a break and to let go for a while. It was causing major depression and I just couldn't deal with it right now. We are open to adoption, but that is something that is in the future if we go that route. So although we still want children, we just are taking some time off. So in the meantime, Brandon announced he is getting me the doggie of my dreams...a Yorkie. We have picked her out and she will be 12 weeks around the 10th of October. We can't wait to bring her home!!!! She is going to be such a wonderful addition to our family! We have named her after my favorite movie character.....Katie Scarlett.

Other than that...some other stuff about me:
-I love to scrapbook! It is my true passion in this life! I have my own scrapbooking studio in our home and I work on a regular basis in there. I have designed for several teams/companies and feel so blessed to meet all the wonderful crafters I have out in the scrapbooking world. I can't wait to scrap our dog!
-I love to decorate/design in our home. I collect dishes and have about 17 sets of them. I keep our formal dining table changed out all year long.
-I collect Gone With the Wind and anything pink! I love the color pink!
-I love to read!
-I am a tad OCD and like things in a certain order and in their place...but I am getting better about this! I've came a long way!
-It's weird, but I love to clean! I love our home after I have gave it a thorough cleaning!
-I love to travel!
-My Mom is my BFF and a fellow scrapbooker!
-I have a wonderful nephew, named Carter and he is 6 years old. And I have a new nice or nephew on the way! So excited to be an aunt again!
-I am a HUGE football fan! I love football! Big Alabama fan! Roll Tide!
-I love to cook and enjoy cooking shows!

That's me in a nutshell I reckon'! :)
