Waterproof-smudgeproof Mascara? The only makeup i really wear is Foundation and Mascara. I always use waterproof mascara, but i'm noticing although it may be waterproof...its really not smudgeproof. It really stinks when i'm at work and happen to notice in a mirror that my mascara is smudging. Being a nurse...i really dislike touching my face while i'm at work. So i really want to invest in a smudgeproof mascara....anyone know any good ones that are waterproof AND smudgeproof?? |
Hope someone can help as I notice the waterproof mascara isn't really waterproof or smudgeproof...will check back later to see if anyone knows of product that works. |
I use the waterproof maybelline (blue tube) it's not THE BEST but it's the best I've found for Florida weather - I'm still actively searching though!! |
I use Maybelline also. I use the Full 'n Soft or the one that's hanging next to it (can't remember the name). They're in silver tubes. I never get smudges. |
I've been buying a different brand of waterproof mascara each time and found some make my eyes blur or water, some flake and it's not a pretty sight to see black specks under the eye, or end up looking like I smudged an eye liner. The best I've found is by Urban Decay. I also use their eyeshadow Primer lotions. It's keeps the eye shadow from fading or creasing, and keeps the eye liner from smudging. (their powder eye shadow is wonderful). I also use their lip primer lotion. It keeps my lipstick on much longer. Urban Decay - Beauty - Macy's If you can't find a mascara that you like, maybe consider those little lashes that you glue just two or three hairs into your own. You can add as many as you like and you can't even tell they aren't your own. |
I don't wear waterproof mascara, because hate that it is so difficult to remove. But, I don't currently ever have problems with non-waterproof mascara and smudges. If I ever I have, I think it has been from using more concealer and/or foundation under my eyes, or using makeup that it more oily or moisturizing. Do you use a lot of makeup on your under eye area? Maybe try wearing just your mascara without foundation one day (even if just at home, if you can't go without foundation!) and see if you have less problems with smudging. If it is that your face makeup is quite oily, you might have the same problem with any mascara you try. You could also try setting your foundation with a loose powder to make it less oily and that may stop the smudging. Of course, you can always try using mascara just on the top lashes too, and that will probably help. |
I use Dior mascara, it is AWESOME! I just love it. But I'm not sure if its water/smudge proof. I'll have check, but it makes my lashes look great. |
I use CoverGirl Lash Blast Volume in the orange tube. I love it, I've never had a problem with it smudging and it uses like a soft plastic brush I think, not the normal "bristles". You can easily remove it with a little baby oil or vaseline if you don't have eye make-up remover. |
There's a difference between waterproof and smudge proof mascaras. Waterproof mascaras can be worn while swimming and won't drip over face. Smudge proof are typically stronger against oil types of smudges, and sweat. Mascara that is waterproof and smudge proof can be very hard to remove, but for most people a smudge proof mascara is what they need, unless you cry or swim frequently. |
When the weather is warm or cold we ride a motorcycle. During the summer I swim in a pool. Sometimes I dont feel like taking my makeup off at night. The mascara that I use is EsteLauder Double Wear zero-smudge lengthening mascara. It doesn't come off when my eye water on the bike,in the pool or if I sleep in it. I also use Este Lauder Lash Primer. Granted you almost need a jackhammer to get it off,but when you put it on it stays. |
I have l'oreal telescopic mascara and I love it!! Never smuges or runs! |
