Anyone traveling for Thanksgiving We always go to VA for Thanksgiving and stay home for Christmas. All of our family is in VA. It's only about a 6 hour drive so it's not to bad. The only thing that I don't like is having to go between my grandfather's which is where all of my family meet at. To my mother-in-laws which is where all my husbands family meets at. He normally goes there and spends most of his time and me & Ethan spend most of ours at my grandfathers. I do spend 1 or 2 nights at my mother-in-laws. By the time the week is over we have to come home to rest. I really dread it, only because we spend so much time on the road. This is what we do everytime we go home. That's a big reason why we don't go that much. Sorry to ramble. I was just curious as to what everyone's plans are. |
I get to travel a whole 10 miles to the in-laws for the annual family reunion/drunk fest! God give me strength! |
The kids and I will be travelling to TN. It is an 11 hour drive. My family will all be there which I am looking forward to....and one day I will have to be with the ex-inlaws....and the ex!!! UGH That day I dread! |
We go a whole 5 miles to my sisters house! (Still the kids manage to fight in the car). It used to be such a big crowd that got together but since my mom died my brother and my nieces don't go there anymore so it's just the 7 of us. But, more turkey for me! |

Wow 11 hours. What part of TN are you going to? We will be going just a few miles across the TN state line in Southwest VA. |
Hi where do you go in Va.?Thats where I live. |

My grandfather lives in Abingdon, my mother-in-law is in Richlands and me I'm orginially from Whitewood. You've probably never heard of Whitewood. It is way in the sticks. All of these places are in the Southwest part of VA. What part of VA are you in? |
When you are in Abingdon, please say hello to my family that I am avoiding ;) haha just kidding but they are all there! My mom is coming up for Thanksgiving and my bday (Wednesday-Tuesday)! Yay she's making me a turkey! Actually she is coming up to visit the monkeys ;) |
~~ Schatzie sings ~~ Over the hills and through the woods, to Grandma's house we go... Umm, nope. No traveling for us this year. |
I am traveling from NY to AL this year. My sister works in Pensacola, FL and can't come home for Thanksgiving this year. My bf is working in Mobile- about 30 minutes from my sister. His company is renting a house, so the three of us will be spending Thanksgiving there. I'm so excited to see both of them and get to some warmer weather! |
I am just staying home. My family live like 5 minutes from me and my boyfriends live even closer...so I will be here in Houston Texas. |
I have no family in US... plus I don't eat meat! So I probably won't be celebrating Thanksgiving, but "DAYS OFF!!!" woohooo. I am trying to cheer myself. The holiday seasons are really tough for me as I miss my family a lot.. Anyway.. to be positive!! I am gonna go to CA for vacation. Well.. i am sure not many places are open during the holiday, but I can go to after Thanksgiving sale..And I will go to my favorite sushi place called "Mikuni". i guess. I live in MA, so CA is at other end. And I will be spending time with my boyfriend and my friend's yorkie. So it will be just fun! It is my first time to fly with a dog. So exciting. I bought a carrier and plane tickets from my pocket... oh also some greenies. People think i am crazy being so into a dog that is not even mine! But he is mine... for two weekends a month when I am watching him :D |
We stay home. And im happy about that , I dont like to travel on the Holidays. |

I dont' care much for traveling on the Holidays either, but we really don't have much choice. We always stay home for Christmas. Too much stuff to lug around. Plus I would rather Ethan wake up at home for Santa. |
My family and my brother's family have rented a home together in the GA Mtns, complete with beautiful views, pool table, and Hot Tub! We are looking forward to it. My son and neice will be coming from college...the cousins don't get to be together very often. It will be the first holiday we have spent together since my Mother passed away, so there will be some sadness, but by having it somewhere we have never been before, I think will make it easier! The only bad thing is it is not pet friendly (apparently you need to book before August to get one of those, they go fast), so I am smuggling Bonnie in with us! I am a little nervous, but I know she isn't going to damage anything, I just feel a little bad about the smuggling part! The best part is no interstate travel for me!! |
