Need help planning office Christmas party... ...OK everybody...I need suggestions! I DO NOT like planning office parties, but here I am again with that task! I need suggestions for games, entertainment, etc... It will be in a home and there will be about 8 couples. I need something that can be done as a group, but something that does not need a lot of explaining, because I will be the one explaining it, and I DON'T want to stand in front of everyone to do this! I need everbody to put your party hats on and come through for me here! You need to make me look good in front of the co-workers and their wives! |
I'm not sure how extensive your decorations are going to be, but I LOVE this site: PlumParty.com I would just do a nice Christmas music mix, get plenty of drinks, and some yummy food. You could ask each person to bring something small and have a stocking set up with everyone's name on it. Each person would bring one thing to add to the stockings, like candy, a cute ornament, etc. You could also ask everyone beforehand for a picture of them when they were younger in a holiday outfit, opening gifts, in front of the tree, etc. Hang the pictures and have everyone guess whose in the picture. The person who gets the most photos right could win a bottle of wine. You could also play a small music snippet of popular holiday songs and have everyone guess the songs. Have a great time with the party and don't stress to much so that you can enjoy yourself! |
How about a 'Fire the boss and give yourselves a Nice Big RAISE Party' ? :D |
My girlfriend's family always plays a game at their Christmas party that is SO much fun. First you have everyone bring a gag gift or a "regift" - you know, something that they've received as a gift and don't really want. My friend's family has played the game for so many years, that oft times tacky gifts are given throughout the year in the hope that it will have the honor of being used at the Christmas party that year. And some gifts make annual appearances! I forget how they chose the first person, but the first person opens a gift. Whoever brought the opened gift is next up. They pick a gift to open, and whoevers gift that was is then next up, and so on. The kicker is that at any time, a person can choose to open an unwrapped package, or take a gift that they like that someone else has already opened. Then the next turn goes to the person left without a gift. I think the only rule is that if someone takes your gift, you can't take it right back, it has to be someone different or a new gift. That's not to say that after a couple of rounds they can get their original gift back!! I know that may sound confusing, but maybe someone else on here could explain it better if they know the game. The wackier the gifts (and the people!) the more fun the game is!! Good luck with your party! |

One year, I put together a shoebox full of grannie panties, KFC coupons, and a TV Guide. On the tag, I put "For a hot night in"... :D |
Thanks to everyone for their replies! I have heard of the gift exchange, and may do that. I'm still open to suggestions! If it was just decorating and food, I have no problem, but being the only female in the office it all falls on me, and like I said before I am not good at the entertainment part!! For the most part, working with all men is great, no gossip or petty arguments, but this is the one time of the year that I don't like being the only female! Last year we had it at a dinner/comedy theatre, which I thought was great, because all I had to do was show up...but they didn't like it, because we couldn't socialize as much there as we could in a home setting! Again...thanks for the help! (Maybe I can just take Bonnie and we can all just sit and look at how cute she is and play with her)! HA! |
You didn't say it was all guys.... Just get pizza and beer and give them each a remote!!! :D |
