Ok So My IRS Refund Is MIA
 
It was supposed to be direct deposited on March 18th. Both my son and daughter's went through to their accounts . .. mine is MIA. IRS Website says I have to wait until 3/23 to call them. Checked my account numbers on my return form and all match up . . .I called the bank today and asked if they saw anything pending and they said "we see, what you see when you log into your account" That wasn't much of a help . . .:rolleyes:

What the heck happened? Has anyone actually had to call the IRS because of missing funds? I never had this happen before.

Have you looked in Libya?:D I know. I'm no help. Wish I could explain it for you.:)

Yes, this was my 1st year using E-file. It was suppose to be deposited on 2/20, so I have waited patiently....nothing. Looked on www.irs.com site today, under "where's my refund" put in all the info they requested, then I got a code that said call irs.

I called and he said since you can't sign you E-file you have to put in a pin# or you can enter your last years (09) gross income. Instructed me to go back in and enter either one and resend it.

Did that this evening, should work now.

Check out the site and see what it tells you to do. Good Luck!

It won't let you e-file if there is an error- it will kick back- once they have given you a specific time frame to expect it by, it means it was accepted. I would wait the full time- some periods are slower for returns then others, especially as you get closer to April 18th. If you don't get it by the final date, you can give them a call.

Getting that PIN was a PIB!!! Had to go to 2 different sites to get it. Got my refund Friday after Libya started I think so good luck with yours! Course, mine could have been the last dime the country had left................guess I'd better not spend it!

I did get an email showing mine was accepted too, but then I missed the email sent back to me rejected.

I discovered today when I checked there site under "where's my refund".

I should have mine straightened out now....keeping fingers crossed.

This was the first year we did the e-file. My sons and I all had our taxes done on the same day yet I received my refund about a week before they did. We chose to have the refunds mailed to us. We received our federal refund but are still waiting for NY State to come.

I didn't do the e-file . . .:questione I did mine through Turbo Tax and then I signed them and sent them on their way . . .

I betcha it's in Libya too . . .:eek: :p Or someone else is enjoying my tax refund because it was probably direct deposited in someone else's account . . .:rolleyes:

I got in touch with the IRS
 
It was a data processing error. My bank routing number was inputed wrong and missing a number. She was like "I'm soooo sorry about that" LOL I told her no biggie as long as it wasn't sitting in someone else's account I'm perfectly fine with that.

So they have to wait for it to kick back to the IRS and they'll issue me a paper check . . .

Hopefully no other bank routing number and account number are the same as mine . . .she said that was highly unlikely . . .but we shall see . . .:p

Spend it, before something else happens. I have to pay, so the country will get some money. It probably won't stay in the IRS coffers too long.

I know here in SC, State returns post on Mondays and Fed returns post on Fridays. I'm still waiting on mine:confused:
