My first born turns 30 OMG!!! How the hell did that happen? I truly do not know where the time went. My first born son turned 30 years old today. This is really unbelievable to me. He doesn't want to have a party - but last minute, his wife and I are planning a celebration in a couple of weeks. Hopefully he'll come. LOL! So, parents with young kids - all I can say is - ENJOY them. Enjoy every single minute. Enjoy the car pools, enjoy the soccer practices, enjoy their ballet recital, enjoy the every day tedious homework and playdates. ENJOY! Because before you know it............... you will blink and they will be 30. |
I totally understand...my firstborn turned 40 last January! Time sure does fly. |
I know how you feel. I have 3 daughters 32, 34, 37 and wonder how that is possible. Looking back I know I didn't appreciate how lucky I was to have three beautiful baby girls. I was very busy with school, homework, dancing, sports , etc. and couldn't imagine life without them. The best thing with having older children you are blessed with grandchildren. |
Funny thing is that I have young children still at home, and my daughter (child 2) has blessed us with a grandaughter - so my house is busy. I don't think it hit me so much when I became a grandparent as much as my son turning 30. Is that weird? |
My firstborn son turns 30 on Thursday and I totally understand how you are feeling. They grow up way to fast.:) |
Yeah, they grow fast. I have 35, 32 and 28. But guess what! They have grandchildren! You get to spoil without all the carpooling, etc! I have two grandchildren and a 3rd on the way. Love my kids to death, but grandchildren are even better! Love this poem: Child of my Child Child of my child you bring tears to my eyes as I think of the child I once bore. Child of my child I now realize that my child's not a child anymore. Child of my child thought it's you in my arms in my thoughts there's another child, too. Child of my child you bring back memories of a child who was once much like you. So hang in there, the best is yet to come! |
I feel the same way about how time is flying by so quickly. My first born son will be 50 in June, and my youngest (of the 6 boys) is 35. I think that makes me old, but I sure don't feel old. So all you young parents, enjoy every minute of every day with your babies because they will graduate college next month. ;) |
Oh, 30! They do grow up too fast. Remember what you were doing 30 years ago today very well, don't you? This is why we need our furkids. When our children grow up and have their own lives, the little furries stay right by momma's side. My teddy bear of a son Danny was raised with dogs and works with them in his business. He's got a huge heart for dogs and they all gravitate to him whatever the situation. But, boy, time does fly. |
Where does the time go. My first born will be 40 in June and I still think I am 25!! Happy Birthday to your son. |
My first born will be 30 in May. I can relate, time just flies |
My eldest is 44 and my youngest is 36. My eldest grandson is 20 - so I am not far off being a great grandmother. And of course, I am only 21:D:D |
Thank you everyone. Not that I feel bad or old. Its just kind of shocking. Believe it or not - but I have four kids; with my youngest (little surprise) being just 7. So she keeps me young. Its just that I really don't know where the time went. |
I'm with you! My firstborn (girl) turned 30 in October! #3 is 25...maybe he'll move out soon!! |
My babies will be 30/28 in Sept/Oct this year....time does fly by quickly...I can still remember them when they were with me at my elementary school waiting for me to finish my work day and wanting to go home...now I am seeing their peers/classmates who now have their children registering as students....can somebody pleassssse slow down time :p |
