Help please! Would like to upload an album... I would like to add an album to my profile. Everytime I post pics of my girl I have to copy the link from photobucket. I would like to know how to do this without the link. Also when I click on the "add an album" do I just copy and paste the links, or the actual pics? Sorry to be so computer UN-savy! :p Thanks for the help! :) |
You have to use the photos that are saved on your computer. Do you still have them before you uploaded them to Photobucket? If not, in Photobucket, open the photo, right click with your mouse and choose Save Image As and name it and save it to your desktop. You can now use that photo to upload onto YT. |
Thank you for your reply. The only thing is I know what you are saying and I have been trying that. It always tells me it was unsucessful. This is so frustrating! lol |
Sorry, it keeps saying it's not a valid image file when I'm trying to upload an avatar pic. I go to browse and select the image from my computer and hit save changes, but then I get that msg and nothing. |
It could be because your image is too large. Avatar pictures for non-donating members have to be 75 pixels at their widest measurement. Do you have software to shrink pictures? If not, you can post a picture here, and I'd be happy to size it for you. |
Wow Alaskayorkie, thank you so much! You are full of great advice and help! :) I have Irfanview and did try resizing it earlier and that didn't seem to help either. Can I post the link from photobucket? Also if you resize it how will I get it back and to my avatar? I really am not computer savy in the least as I'm sure you can tell! |
If you are using Irfanview, are you resizing then saving the image? I keep a separate folder in my Pictures folder, I name it YorkieTalk, and when I resize a picture for uploading to YT I save the resized image to the YorkieTalk folder. But, uploading to an album, if you don't resize the pic YT will resize it. What format is your image in? All mine are Jpgs. |

Beamers mom thank you. Yes I am saving them to my computer under the save as. Mine are jpg as well. I am sorry this has to be so complicated for me. When I go to the part where i can add album it asks for me to title it, then public, profile, etc at the bottom. In between title and the setting at the bottom there is a place for description? Is that where I'm suppose to be adding my pics? If so, can I grab the code from photobucket? Then of course photobucket gives 4 codes!! Haha what to do?! This is terrible, I'm sorry for frustrating all of you if i am. I do appreciate you all taking the time to help out a computer naive person! :p |

After you have selected the type of album you want, and a title, it will take you to another page where you can upload pictures from your computer. You can upload three pictures at a time. You can rename your pictures and save them. The first picture is automatically chosen as the default picture for the album cover, but you can change this by selecting another picture. You can continue uploading pictures to this album or create new albums. The page where the pictures are uploaded will give you information on how much storage you have available. You cannot link the pictures from photobucket you your album, you have to upload them from your computer. So save the pictures from photobucket to a folder on your computer, and then just upload them from that folder. Here again, is the link. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yor...ake-album.html |
Okay, sorry for making this harder than it really was. :p Well I got that part figured out, but it tells me it's not a valid image file? I'm just gonna give up, this is making me feel dumb! Thanks Nancy, Beamers, and AY for helping! Throwing in the towel! |

1 Attachment(s) Okay, here's to hoping this works. Fingers crossed. Yay! It worked here! |

Ty! She really is the most precious perfect pup! I am sad because I did what you said and it is still saying it's not a valid image file. I'm bummed cause I really wanted to show her off in an album. :( However, I appreciate your relentless help and I will try "playing around" with it more later. I'm sure it's not my computer and is the person navigating it! Trial and error I suppose. |
1 Attachment(s) LOL, oh no! Don't read this yet! I've managed to screw up the picture! Follow this directions only after you see the picture. Oh, I'm so sorry, I keep abandoning you! I may be confusing things even more here, but if you want your picture to appear below your name like ours do, you'll want to upload an avatar. I resized your picture to avatar size and am reattaching it here. It's NOT album size. Your original picture was good for that. Here's how to ad an avatar: * Click on the picture I'm attaching and drag it to your desktop * On the main YT page, click on User CP (located on blue bar below the ad at top) * In lefthand column, click on edit avatar under settings and options * Click on choose file and find bella6_avatar that I just gave you. * Save changes. * Voila, it should appear below your name. |
LMBO! Go figure?! Someone who knows what they're doing and they get caught up in my confusion and get jinxed! No I'm kidding. So, maybe my WHOLE prob is that even though all of Bellas pics are saved to my computer, they are saved under documents. Not necessarily in a folder like my other pics. Is this the reason for all my headache? If so, how do I move them to a folder? Geez, I never have had this much trouble doing such simple stuff! Or maybe I should see if my teenager can show me how! lol Ya'll are great though! You and Nancy are either incredibly frustrated with me at this point, or laughing hysterically! :p |

For some reason, it's not allowing me to upload your avatar as an attachment, but it still works. Try this: Just drag the avatar below my name to your desktop. THEN follow my above instructions. If that doesn't work, PM me your e-mail address (if you feel comfortable with that) and I'll e-mail it to you. |

Ok. I'm ready to go remote on your computer and get this darn pic uploaded!! OMG. I had no idea you can drag those photos onto your desktop!! |
O-M-G!!! I am beside myself with happiness!!! :D God Bless everyone who had the patience to deal with and help me!! P.S. My 13 yr old walked right and said "here let me show you." I was already catching on at this point though thanks to everyone's help! Now, don't ask me how to ever change it. That's a different story! |
WOOHOO! You did the avatar all by yourself! Congrats. I'll change mine back! Now for an album, just listen to Nancy1999. She's the real guru around here. |
I didn't know she was trying to do an avatar, you can do a direct link from photobucket for that, I thought she was doing an album I'm so confused right now, I don't think I could help anyone, but at least the avatar is uploaded! You can also upload a picture as your "profile picture", it shows up on your profile page, while your avatar shows up besides your posts. To upload a profile picture click on this: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/pro...editprofilepic. Please don't feel stupid about not knowing how to do this stuff, it was really hard for me, and every time I learned how to do something I wrote a "how to guide" so I wouldn't forget! |

Nancy, please don't be confused. That is my fault! I did/do want to do an album too. Just couldn't figure out either one. lol |

This is strange also. Even though it has now let me post both a profile and avatar pic, after I hit the "save changes" button it told me the same thing. However, they are visible. So, IDK either?? Going to keep working on an album though. This was my goal of the day and I'm halfway there! ;) |
