Rave: Why are some women such pigs? Been fuming totally out of proportion all afternoon. The ladies' room in my office building was being worked on, so I had to walk a block to another building in the rain to use the restroom. Already out of sorts. First stall I walked into - someone had used it and didn't bother to flush. WTH?! Is it THAT hard to push down on the little lever? You may not want to get your hand dirty -- so get a paper towel and flush the &^*$ toilet! We had this problem in my building about a year ago. Whoever it was ignored the polite signs on the doors thanking them for remembering to flush. Ignored the first two meetings I called with all the women in the building asking them to be more considerate. Finally got the message in the third meeting when I said that if I caught anyone coming out without flushing I would announce it to the entire staff. Is there some reason I don't understand for this? And while on the topic, why do some women flush before they use the toilet? I just don't get it. |

Maybe you could ask them to put in an automatic flushing system.:D |
Lol, what a unusual subject. My pet peeve is the woman that use the paper toilet seat covers and just leave them on the seat when they are done. I hate it too when woman drop pee on the toilet seat and leave it. As for flushing before or during using the bathroom. I am guilty of that at times if I have to go number two and other ladies are in the bathroom. Flushing helps cover up any possible 'noise' and cut down on odors. Kind of a courtesy thing if you now what I mean. |
Ugh! It just bugs me when people don't flush! Also, like bjh said - it's disgusting when women pee all over the toilet seat and just leave it there for YOU to either clean up, or sit on. Ew, ew, ew!!! |
I'll admit, I'm a germaphobe and hate touching the lever...however, I just pull a little piece of TP off the roll and use it to touch the handle with rather than touching it with my hand...but I still flush? I hover because, well, germs, but again I clean up any "sprinkles". I remember one bathroom I went in they had a little sign up that said "if you sprinkle when you tinkle, be a dear and wipe it clear!" lol. and another read "if a 2 year old can flush a toilet, SO CAN YOU!!!" apparently this is a big problem everywhere, haha. gross. The one that gets me is when someone doesn't flush, leaves a #2 behind but there is no TP in the bowl... Yes, women are pretty gross when it comes to public bathrooms...I've witnessed a lot of women walking out without washing their hands! Yikes! |

I don't understand the hovering thing either. They've already said that toilet seats aren't as dirty as lots of other things in the world. And plus, it's not like the skin on your butt carries diseases... |

And I won't shake someones hand (unless necessary) and if I do I immediately reach for the germ-x...I always order my drinks without the fruit (did you see the special about the lemons...:thumbdown) and I'm constantly spraying Lysol on the community computer...what I have to log in to it sometimes to do some admin stuff... Some people are just slobs, some may flush and didn't bother to check if the toilet handled their flush before exiting -- and the reason someone may flush PRIOR to going is unless you checked out that particular stall previous to them you don't know what they encountered (maybe someone who didn't flush??) thus they felt it appropriate to flush another's waste first just so they could use the toilet. Personally, I never had to go that bad that I wouldn't simply go back out of the stall and wait for another (cleaner) one to free up rather than flush the stuff - as I'd probably vomit (weak stomach) I do agree with you 100% that it is sickening to go into a stall that hasn't been flushed. But there are so many disturbed people out there these days...If you don't pull away from a stop sign fast enough someone flips you off, people (guys in particular - sorry guys!!) hack their snot on a sidewalk, the store checker doesn't check you out fast enough, the people in line get perturbed, on and on...just a lot of angry, rude, and/or self centered people out there. |

Sometimes women let their little daughters use the bathroom while they are waiting, and if the child poos, they usually don't flush. I'm with all of you about cleanness though. I use my antibacteria wipes on the toilet seat, (I hate those paper liners), I use my foot to flush if the toilet isn't automatic, which I think all public toilets should be. I always use those antibacteria wipes on shopping carts that the stores have at the door, and if they don't have them, I do. I always carry them. I also carry the antibacteria jell and alcohol wipes. I like keeping my hands wiped if I have to touch too many hands and door handles when I'm out shopping. At home I wipe all the door knobs once a week, along with ref. stove & microwave handles & knobs, keyboards, phones, lamp switches, remotes, and such. I keep a spray bottle of alcohol under each sink in the house and use that to clean the tubs, sinks, counters and I even spray it on my bed foam and pillows twice a week when I change the sheets. Maybe I'm over the top too, but we never have so much as a cold and I've never had the flu. So maybe it pays to cut back on so many germs. ;) |

LOL, being born and bred from Kansas, I have cleaned up after animals my whole life. They were only doing what they were taught. Maybe that's what we see in a public restroom as well. I don't mind the animals, but I find myself being a bit of a germaphobe when it comes to public restooms myself. |
