Problem is, as I read in another article, is that if he fights extradition to Florida he may not be extradited unless it is also a crime in Colorado. And apparently the Pueblo police dept checked him out during the controversy and decided he hadn't broken any Colorado laws.

I hope he does get extradited to Florida! (But then, his attorney will probably use "freedom of speech" in his defense)

I'm glad he was arrested; what he wrote and it's ridiculous 'intent' was repugnant. Ya know that one island where house sex offenders, and don't let them go, pretty much ever? He needs to go there, and stay.

That saddens me so. Kids, who have been abused and neglected at home, are usually the most vulnerable, and they are often happy to receive any attention.

Good for Florida for finding a way to arrest this Colorado citizen, I like their sheriff who says, "Our goal is protect the children." Shouldn't we all be doing that?

The Supreme Court has repeatedly ruled that freedom of speech does not cover pornography or pedophilia.

Now, I wonder if they can go after Amazon for distributing the book. I sure hope so.

so glad to see him finally taken care of. i hope there is no way he's getting out this time. he's sick and needs to be put away for life so he cannot hurt anyone. this isn't a joke or just a free speach thing it's sick and it can and probably has really hurt someone

Well, he has been booked into the Polk County jail:)
His first court appearance is tomorrow. Hope he has to go to jail for a very very long time.

Bail is set at $15,000. His attorney says he can't pay that. The judge refused to lower the bail - so he stays in jail:)

:thumbup: Amazon needs to take some responsibility here. It disgusted me when Amazon was approached by CNN and other tv news stations, their initial response was to leave the book available for purchase. It was not until there was a huge public outcry did they remove the book. Obviously, Amazon is not about doing the right thing until it hits their bank account.

This guy does need to rot on that island Ann mentioned, along with those at Amazon that made the initial decision to not remove the book. :mad:
