Pics of my Premie Granddaughter .. Then & Now 4 Attachment(s) I was going thru some pictures on my computer and came across some of my Grandaughter Kaylynn. She will be 6 December 14th. She was born 3 months premature 6 years ago ..She only weighed 1 lb 8 oz. but to look at her now you would never know it.. She was a true miracle. Even the doctors didn't expect her to live.. She is living proof that prayers are answered. Just had to share it.. The first pic is her and my son.. when she was born.. the rest is her now |
What a doll, a miracle indeed. I also have a 6 yr. old granddaughter that is truly the light of my life. |
She's a little blessing, isn't she? She's a very pretty little girl.:p |
Ahhhh....those first pictures just make me want to cry, she is so tiny, and fragile. Your son's expression says it all...she is obviously so deeply loved♥ She has grown into a beautiful little girl...you are blessed! |
This makes me so happy! I am a NICU RN and it is so wonderful to see NICU grads doing well. I never get to see them once they leave the hospital and grow up, so this truly touches my heart. |
She is simply adorable !!! Patches & Winnie |
It is nice to see a tiny one make it. It makes me feel good to know this. My daughter Hillary was not as lucky. She was born 4 months premature at just under a pound and for the first 24 hours she breathed on her own, but had to be intubated as she was losing weight just by breathing. She lived 13 days and taught the doctors so much. She was too small for the iv's and they had to move them often. Most of the tests they wanted to run on her they could not due to her size. Her NICU nurse Trish called me almost a year later to tell me a little boy had lived because of what they learned from her. She was at Children's Hospital in Boston Ma. I do believe she was not here for me and even though her life was short she fulfilled her mission in teaching the doctors how to help the tiny's make it. She would be 24 years old now and not a day goes by that I don't think of her and what she would be like today. |
How Precious!! She is Beautiful:) |

That is such and inspiration to hear that.. I am so sorry for your loss. I know my granddaughter is our miracle girl. She lost weight also when she was born.. she got down to just a pound.. I thank God for the wonderful doctors in Springfield Illinois that never gave up.. and all the prayers.. they have really learned alot from the years ago your daughter was born. |
She is beautiful! What a challenging time that must have been. Thankful all your prayers were answered and she sure has turned out to be such a beauty. |
What a beautiful little girl, thank you for sharing this with us. |
She is so beautiful...a blessing for sure! :) Not only is she a very pretty little girl, but she also looks like she is extemely sweet and happy. She looks tiny in the first pictures but isn't it unreal how they look so much smaller in person?! My first baby was a touch over 1 lb....she was an extreme preemie as well. I remember thinking how shocking her size was when I got to see her. Thank you for sharing her gorgeous pictures with us~ Tammy |
God bless her! She is a beauty! |
She is *beautiful*!!! Can you believe how small she used to be!?? I did my PEDS rotation in the NICU, and I think the smallest premie I saw was about 9-10 oz. It was tough, bc you can't comfort them or hold them or do much of anything when they're that small (bc it literally causes them pain)...but all you want to do is snuggle them right up. Hugs to your precious granddaughter! :):):) |
