Would you allow your kids to say this??? The phrase "Oh My Goodness!" Is it bad? Is it ok? Is it a replacement for "Oh My God!"??? |
That's the term I've always used, you can also hear it in Shirley Temple movies. I wouldn't want my kids to say, "Oh my God". |
I wouldn't care at all. To be honest, "Oh my God" doesn't even bother me.... but it does sound more "polite", I guess, to say goodness. But when people say Oh my God, I don't look at it as a bad thing, or a way of saying something demeaning. |

I have always heard oh my goodness which was short for oh my goodness gracious. I actually thought it was a southern thing  |
When I was a tiny little girl everyone told me that I looked just like Shirley Temple  I even had the ringlets and the pout. I have no idea what happened. :p OMGoodness! |
Yes, and I think its totally acceptable for youngsters to use! |

I'm perfectly fine with "oh my goodness" and fine with my kids saying it. To me its the same as goodness gracious. |

I used to get slapped across the face for 'my gosh' and 'gee whiz'. 'my goodness' was fine, though. And if 'my goodness' was okay for my mother, the guardian of ALL things right and wrong, then it must be okay! |
Why would it be bad? |

yeah...I don't get it either... |
I feel irritated whenever I hear someone saying "oh my god!" "Oh my goodness is fine :) |
