Hehe, I think they're cute... My daughters each have a hampster, we put them in the same cage and they are mean to each other so we had to seperate them...

note to self.....make sure daughter who is obsessed with hamsters and rodents doesnt see this!

she wants some so bad and i am skeptical. i'll most likely give in before long though...

Ours are mean, I pay the cleaning lady extra to clean their cage twice a week and my girls are responsiable for it the rest of the week. I'm scared of them, they bite..

I have six hamsters. I got a Hamster around december and she was pregnant. Of course i didnt know, until one day when I went to take her out to put her in her rolling ball. When I see something hanfing fom her. It was ne of the babies. I panicked, and had to read on what to do wiht them. Now I have 4 cages, 1 for the mom, 1 for the only male and the others are in the other 2 cages. I want to stay with only 1 but hubby doeant want to.
By the way your hamster are cute.
I posted some pics of my hamsters.
The first pic is the Mommy hamster, the second pic is of the quintuples as babies, the third is 2 of the girls, and the last pic one of the girl playing on the wheel.

They were 1 week old yesterday!! It is so much fun!! I am so excited for them to get some hair... I have found people to take at least 2 of them. I think that there are 7. Not sure because I don't want to disturb her too much. We are only up to two cages so far, I had to get a seperate one for the daddy... I have such a small house and it is turning into a zoo. Ha Ha... The kids sure love it though!! They are kinda cute... it is a they are so ugly they are cute kind of thing. Ha Ha.... I just can't wait until they get some hair and start running around.
Hey Marie... how old are your babies now?? How long before they get hair??
The mom got out the other night but I found her pretty quick thank goodness!! I couldn't believe it when I looked in and she was gone!! Scared me...
I am so proud!! Even though this was all an accident! Ha Ha... I will keep you updated with more pics of "Chester's" Babies as they grow....

They are fun... and they are cute.. not like mice.. I hate them. Kinda strange but there is just something about mice that freaks me out. I love the hamsters though!! And if you play with them alot they stay nice. Also I wouldn't get a dwarf I have heard they are not as nice and we had 2 a few years ago and they both got tumors and it was so sad... then I read that that kind are prone to them. Ughhhh
I could put one in a little tiny tiny crate and have it sent to you and you could go pick it up at the airport!! haha...

Awwww....My son had a Hampster named "Andy" that he took everywhere with him ...he had one of those balls that rolled around the house - Then we got another male ....one day we woke up to babies..... and MAN was my son excited .....I think hampsters are darling

now that would be something! wonder what they would charge for that? ha ha!

I wouldn't call them ugly, I wanted one as a child...As an adult, I wouldn't, and seriously can't be near one. Looking at them is making me a little crazy. Cute though!

They will get some fur from 14 to 16 days. I wanted to give some out and only stay with one but my hubby said no. Now we have 4 cages. You are correct is a lot of work cleaning. I have this site that you can read on Hamsters, hope is useful. http://www.petwebsite.com/syrianrearing.htm

I think the hamsters are cute even with no hair! Course, I always think my baby birds are cute, when everyone else says they're ugly as sin!

I'm cracking up over shipping a little hamster in a little crate! Too funny! hahahaha

I'm picturing yorkiemom walking into this big airport...up to a big counter...and there is that teenie tiny crate with that teenie tiny creature! hahahaha...tooooo funny!

I think they are really cute. My kids want to get a hamster. They like the
cages that you can get for them. Are they mean? I heard they sometimes
bite. We had guinea pigs for approx 1 1/2 years. We lost them tragically
3 weeks ago. I haven't decided if I will let them get anything else or
not. They were very upset to lose their furry friends.

Thank You!! They are getting bigger!! They will be 2 weeks on Thursday... I read on the net that you can touch them after they are 2 weeks old. So Hopefully I can get some more pictures.. After I took those pictures she moved them into the wheel and it is hard to see them now!! haha... guess I made her mad!! Oops... She is a good Ma ma...
I will update pictures once I can touch the little guys... I think there are 7!! Wow..... I am so excited.. they are getting fur and it looks like their eyes are starting to open... It sure has been fun watching them grow!!

That is hard when you loose them.... They have such short lifespans it is sad... I talked to a girl the other day and her's lived 5.5 years!! I couldn't believe it... I have never heard of that. I would let them get a hamster though they are so much fun!! Don't get the chinchilla or dwarf hamsters though... they are meaner and I had some and they both got tumors and it was so gross!! Then I read that those kind are prone to tumors....
So in my opinion I wouldn't get that kind of hamsters but the teddy bear or the kind I have ( not sure what they are called) are really nice.. and very tame!!!

When we got our gp's they told us they could live 5-8 yrs. One of the
females had 2 babies 63 days after we bought her. We didnt know she
was preg. But we gave the 2 babies away. They are born with hair and
they look just like a miniature gp. They are adorable pets. But after
we lost ours my kids don't feel like they can be replaced so they want
a different kind of pet. So we might try hampsters. How long do they
live? ( Our gp's were in an accident.. we left the back door unlocked
and the wind blew it open. We were gone for approx 4hrs and our
weinie dogs got in the house. They went upstairs and shook the gp
cage until the top popped loose. The gp's got out and ran away. We
looked for them for approx an hour. We found them under my son's
dresser but they were both dead. They looked normal, so we
thought maybe they had a heart attack or something----we
don't know. But we lost them both that night. I felt really bad
since I am the one that didn't lock the back door.

Oh.... that is so sad but don't blame yourself... accidents happen!! Hamsters life span is around 2 years. So not very long but they are fun pets!! My boys love them!!
I am giving away these babies too.... I have found homes for 2 so far!! haha... 5 more to go!!

I have never seen a baby GP before... I bet they are cute!!
If you have any qustions just let me know... I think they should get some... careful of getting a boy and girl though hahahhaha... :)
