New Englanders are a hearty bunch! Its November 5th and it is only 46 degrees out and raining... yet it is totally normal and common to see a girl in flip flops or a guy in shorts & a tshirt! Seriously until there is snow on the ground you will not see a winter coat or boots at all. I did it the other night myself... went out to get gas and it was 29 degrees out and windy and I wore flip flops, jeans, flannel PJ shirt and a sleeveless winter vest! HAHAHA :D |
Yep, I'm still wearing my "lighter" clothing - yesterday I needed a coat but I opted to freeze rather than admit winter is coming. I just don't know what happened to summer. |
Me either! I go through this every year... it does not sink in with me that summer is over until the snow flies! Before that though I still patiently wait for the next 80 degree day! haha |
I have the heat turned on and my little space heater near my chair! Funny though, my daughter moved to San Diego for four years and just came back, she hasnt had a New England Winter for a whlile! But she still wears flip flops wherever she goes, but she's complaining now, it's freezing here, "Turn the heat up!" lol you can tell she's not paying for it! |
That's funny. Lately, here in Phoenix - we're thrilled that the high is only, say, 85-90 :p. During the Phoenix "winter" (Dec-March) when it's 65-70 degrees as a high- we can always tell who is an out-of-towner bc they'll all be in shorts and t-shirts. Meanwhile, us Phoenicians will be all bundled up, wearing scarves, pants, little jackets bc we think it's freezing :D! |

The A/C is going in my office and we all love it. Without it, you know, it MIGHT reach 65 degrees in here, and that is WAY too hot! LOL I'm not kidding, the A/C really is blasting away! We are so weird! I just see everyone still coming in in sandals and shoes with no socks (like myself) no jackets yet, definitely no scarves, boots or gloves yet. (well except my boyfriend who practically sleeps like that! LOL) If my boyfriend turns the heat above 63 at night he knows he will wake up with either the ceiling fan on or the window open. We are extreme temperature opposites. |

My husband and I have an electric blanket which I push over to his side because it is too hot for me. We kept our house warmer than usual when Prince was here because we didn't want him to get sick...my hubby was happy with that. It's hard to get a break here...it's hot here in the summer (so I'm miserable) and they have already turned the heat on at work (so I'm miserable). People look at me strangely because I am always fanning. |
