Hoover Floor mate If you dont have a Hoover floor mate and have dogs--get one!! I have puppies running around making messes and we broke down and got the Hoover. It vacuums, washes hard floors and dries it. It has swivel brushes on the bottom & it took me 20 min to clean two rooms and didnt break my back. |
How much are they? I'm looking for something for my hard floors that gets the crumbs up and cleans both pet and kid messes...does it steam clean? I like no chemicals... |
I love my Hoover Floormate~as a matter of fact I just got finished doing my entire house. The floors look great and my house smells so clean. The only thing that still shocks me is how filthy the water is every time I do my floors. Just imagine is there was carpet and all the crud that would hold! |

I actually knocked it over when i went to dump the water and the dirty water went all over the floor. I just vacuumed it up and then cleaned the spot again. It works great on tough spots too-just gotta go over it slow. |

The Floormate is a lot like a carpet shampoo machine. You fill a tank with a cap of cleaning solution and hot water and it put onto the floor and scrubbed with the spinning brushes. Then you suck all the water and crud up into a separate canister. There are 3 setting on the machine that you use. One is a vacuum that you use prior to cleaning. Then you wash and finally you suck up the dirty water. I think I paid around $150  But check this one out~it must be new. You can use it on hardfloors and carpet! Walmart.com: Hoover SteamVac All Terrain Carpet and Hard Floor Cleaner, F7452900: Appliances I've also seen them on Amazon.com for around $50 |

i have this machine and i love it . it works really great |
I've been looking for something to help clean my grout. How does it work on tile and grout? |
I bought one of the FloorMates at a yard sale that the lady said was only used a few times. Paid a whopping $20 for it so if it works as good as yours I will be thrilled! I keep forgeting to pick up the cleaner for it. Gotta get it on my list! :) Now I really am curious to give it a go. I now have half of my house in ceramic tile and only the hall and bedrooms in carpet. So, I really could use a hand on the tile. That All-Terrain floor cleaner looks very interesting. But it would have to be really good for me to give up my Bissel Pro-Heat Self-Propelled Carpet Steam Cleaner. Still, I could make one do the job of two cleaners -- save some space. Hmmmm.... this site costs me so much money! :D |

So what cleaner do you all use with your Floormate? I noticed there are all kinds of different ones online -- Floormate Detergent, Floor-to-Floor Solution, Foormate Tile and Grout, Floormate Multi-surface Detergent, Floormate Grout Cleaner, etc..... I read someone said you can just use vinegar and water. How do you do mix that and where do you put it -- just in the clean water part or the solution? I have no instructions. Guess I should download some from online. I think mine is an older one. I have a greenish one. Notice there is now a bluer model. I can't wait to try the one I got now after I have read both of these threads. Seems everyone loves theirs! BTW the All-terrain is not looking like it gets that good of reviews over the long haul. At first people like it but it seems after they have it a while they are not liking the hard surface function too well. So, maybe this little Floormate is the best deal going. |

I'm on my third floormate and I can tell you what NOT to use in it. LOL The first one went to floormate heaven after I used bleach in it. The second one went to floormate heaven after I used natures miracle in it and it foamed up and started spitting and I started feeling my arm vibrate (electrocution?) The third one I will stick with only the Floormate solution. I like it, it works well, I go from floor to floor (wood to tile). I have used vinegar and water but our floor just does not get clean enough with that now that Teddy lives with us. |

I've got tile just about throughout the house, except for the bedrooms and living room and office. I'm less than impressed with my Floor Mate because it just doesn't get deep enough into the grout. My boy Connor is being the problem child housebreaking wise, so needless to say the tile floors are "catching it" ! He has bad aim, too and misses the potty patch. |
