Son being a boob! My son and I are fighting over keeping natalie's bow in her hair and her shirt on (she gets cold easily). He says top knots look bad (He don't know what he is talking about in my opinion). I told him if he took her bow out he was grounded. I wanted a girrl so I could put bows in her how. He needs to get a life...Its my furbaby! :mad: |

Yorkies are supposed to have a topknot! I very reluctantly gave up my long battle of trying to keep a topknot on my Ben. He is just too rough and rubs it on the furniture to dislodge it. Then Candy helps him with the bows. She thinks it is great fun to snatch them off. So, he went with a visor cut. I plan on trying again with my new little girl as soon as her hair grows a little more. They just look best with a topknot and bow! There are so many adorable bows being offered by YT vendors, how can we help but to buy several! Tell your son to wear his hair the way he wants and your little girl will wear hers the way you want. (Hopefully, he will use moderation with his own!) :) |

How old is your son? My 15 year old - thinks EVERYTHING I do or say is stupid. We used to be so close and now I feel like he hates me half the time. The other half, he is his old self, talking and laughing. I'm hoping it's just teen-age moodiness. Sorry to hijack your thread! He doesn't mind if I put a bow in Lucy's hair or not but he will NEVER, EVER walk her in public. He loves playing with her in the house; but definitely not in front of other people. I guess it's not cool. |
My son is 14. He won't walk either of mine in public but loves on them in the house. half the time he is himself the other half, he is ill as a hornet (I think he does stuff to just tick me off). I think it is just a teenager! You didn't hijack my post... |
I've raised 4 boys, I can tell you there being normal for teenagers. I wish I could say they change greatly when they grow up, but that would be a lie. They are after all men, I don't think they get that we are not stupid until they are raising children of their own. At least I hope that's the case. |

Thats why I have 3 girls. I use to keep their hair long with bows and braids. When they became teens, forget it, out with the bows and braids, just long hair. This is why I love my Yorkies, they dont talk back :D |
I tell him all the time that he is going to have a kids just like himself one day and then I'm going to laugh at him and say "I told you so"...then I tell him I'm going to spoil the rotten and send them home for him to deal with. LOL |
Well, I had a little chat with my sullen teen-ager this week-end. I told him that he was at LEAST going to have to pretend that he didn't hate me if he wanted to keep his cell phone. After 5 minutes of dead silence, he mustered up an 'I don't hate you." I feel all warm and fuzzy now! What happened to my best buddy? The one who walked trails with me? And laughed with me at all our favorite shows? And loved his dog, Ringo?? Where did he go? Does he know that I gave up any semblance of a life to make sure he had everything? That I skip lunch every day so I can drive him to practice??? That I get up every Saturday at 0dark-thirty to drive to yet another practice??? Sorry again. I miss my boy! My friend says that about Senior year (when they realize they are leaving); they will at least talk to you again; if not spend time with you. And I'm thinking that Cathys is right. Maybe when they have kids of their own . . . |
Exactly! Your house, your rules!! If he doesn't walk the dog (if that's his chore) no allowance or cell phone or computer.... etc. All that being said, I don't have kids yet:rolleyes: Teaching is the best birth control ever! lol |
When my daughter went off to college in another state I was at a loss. I think I drank a bottle of wine and then some. Cried myself to sleep. :( Enjoy every moment, good or bad. They grow up too fast. |
Tell your son there are two choices, either the dog wears a bow or he wears a bow but someone is wearing a bow. |
