Nebraskans... We travel all over the U.S. but I have to say the WORST sticker type thing we ever come across was in Nebraska day before yesterday. What are these horrible things? They're heads are about 3"s long & have pod type stickers & thorns too! I had to cut one out of Tuffys' chin because he sniffed at a bug that was on one   Now I have to decide whether to live with the lopsided chin until it grows out or trim it all short. |
No one knows? I just want to know what you call the durned things; it's bugging the daylights out of me. If I can find out what it's called I'll be able to sleep tonight  |
I don't know....we have "stickers" here too but they are pea size things. Barefoot summers as kid could be painful....I still hate stickers! |
Yes Jen, those are the type stickers we're used to as well. There's a barrel type out in Texas that we've learned to avoid but these just snuck up on us. They sort of look like a wheat head but have tiny little thorns in them too & the pods made all his hair stick deep. Then of course he scratched at it & the hair we're growing out above his eyes got stuck too along with his leg hair. So not fun...guess we'll be taking pictures from his "good side" for AWHILE. |
Oh no......stickers of any kind and a yorkie coat are a nightmare.....sorry Tuffy found them! |
Yea, me too. I was in tears unmatting as much as I could but finally had to give in to the shears :thumbdown |
oh no! I hope Tuffy is ok. I hate those thorns even though we only have small ones they can be horrible! |

1 Attachment(s) Uhm, nope; that looks v ery similiar to the ones we have seen in Texas though ;) Those are the ones that're kind of spiraled right? Thanks for searching for it; I drove myself batty looking at weeds yesterday just because I HAFTA know now. LOL I found a weed that looks very much like that nasty Nebraskan sticker but this one is soft to the touch, unlike it's awful cousin. |
I have to admit that I searched last night for about an hour and came up with nothing. It's really bothering me too! |
|
I know; crazy to be so obsessed by something  like a sticker but doggone it... |
Aww poor Tuffy! I have no idea what they are called - but I'm glad I haven't seen any! |
Be very glad girl! Poor guy had to put up with me pulling out the tiny thorns (I'm watching to be sure the site doesn't get infected or anything) along his upper lip after I cut the mass out. MIL has tried to convince me it's not noticeable but I OF COURSE can't see anything but this huuuuge bald spot when I look at him now. Quote:

Awww, don't worry, it will grow back - at least he did not ingest any - sometimes these things end up in their lungs or in their nose! Poor baby - give him a squeeze for me. :p |
