HELP!! Found 2 bunnies on side of road!!! :)Okay my son and i just found two house rabbits hopping on the road side! Actually on the road! We of course stopped and picked em up! Now we have these really cute rabbits that we cannot possibly keep as our yorkie,Mabel, loves to chase rabbits! I know this is a longshot(but I'm desperate!) but does anyone out there in North GA know of anyone that rescues rabbits or someone who might want a couple of cute bunnies? They are quite friendly! One is all black, the other is white with brown spots.Really cute! We wish we could keep em but we can't. Come on all you copassionate yorkie mamma's & daddies! |
try the humane society or SPCA? |
I wonder if it's possible they got loose? Maybe call the local police and ask if anyone has reported them missing. If they were dumped, maybe they can help you locate a rescue. Also, try looking up rabbit rescues or breeders who may be able to help. Poor bunnies. Good thing you got them off the road. |
In most all news papers you can run found adds for free;) |
I dont know how old they are, keep them warm if you can and google what to feed the babies. Just be careful where you place them...some people eat them and others like rabbit fur. I know its disgusting but it happens. |
Try to see if you can find a water bottle so they can drink.....dont know if they could drink out of a bowl |
Thanks ladies for your great advice! We found a game ranch that wants them! It's a beautiful place that we visit all the time. I think they will be happy there! Yesterday they were inches from death...these rabbits were just standing on the road! Cars whizzing past! Scary! |
That is great that you rescued then and found them a home! I love my YT people! They are always so compassionate!!! |
Just wondering if you tried to find their owner. They may have been someones cherished pets. I had a pet rabbit for 13 yrs and had he ever gotten lost I would have been Devistated if someone found him and didn't try to find his owner. |

It does sound like they went to a wonderful place where they'll be happy, and not in someones stomach or dead in the road  Thanks for helping these little babies out :D |
A rabbit can indeed drink from a bowl. there are no bottles in nature, you will have to take it out when they stop drinking because if you dont they will knock it over. if your yard has not been treated for chemicals this year(12 full months) you can go out and pick dandy lions and clover if it has you can just go to walmart and get some greens they are not expensive as for a shelter call around if worse comes to worse post them on craigslist for $15-$20 and when a person is ready to pay that much just tell them to go buy supplies if they will pay $20 on a baby rabbit they are not going to eat it or feed it to a snake(they can buy a large rat for $3 in most places) |
