Feeling lightheaded at the end of the day. Was just hoping someone on here could help. I started back teaching at the beginning of the month (needless to say, my absence on YT has been due to that!). The pat 3 days- in the early evening I have been feeling just slightly lightheaded. My days are long and tiring (6 am to roughly 10 pm) but I thought by now I would have adjusted. We have a blood pressure machine at home and my blood pressure is only slightly low- around 110/70. Anyone have any thoughts on how to prevent the light headedness at night? It is not enough to interfere with my day but enough that I notice. Thanks all :) |

My BP is 110/70 all the time. I sometimes get lightheaded too - I find long lasting carbs help. I would try a protein/carb shake or Meal replacement to make sure you keep your blood sugar up. Hope you feel better. |

Thanks! |
The only thing I have found that works for me is to drink a Gatorade. If I drink it around 12:00 the effects last the rest of the day. So far it's prevented me feeling light headed in the evening. I hope it helps you too. |
I have lower blood pressure too and get dizzy often. Like Cathy said try and eat a few healthy snacks as well as breakfast. Those are some long days. |

I hope that the Gatorade works for you. I know how scary and awful it feels. |
I used to have low blood sugar when I was younger and they told me to drink orange juice. I'd buy the packages with individual servings and kept that with me. It really helped. Eating regular meals will really help though. I hope you've been doing well other than that.:) |

Layla and I are doing great- just SO busy- I really miss YT! Looking forward to christmas holidays when I can spend more time on here! |
You should try taking your blood pressure sitting and then standing. Some people can have a significant drop in their blood pressure upon standing. It can be caused by a few reasons, low blood sugar, dehydration, etc. With some people calf strengthening exerises help with this. Also, wearing support hose helps. Like someone suggested earlier, try OJ and gatorade. You can try increasing salt intake if your having low blood pressure. Try calf strengthening exercises. If none of that works see your doctor. |
That bp wouldn't really be considered low. It would be fantastic. :) As long as it's not going quite a bit lower, I think you're fine there. I bet it's hypoglycemia. Small meals often with balanced protein and carbs... Things like Kashi granola bars (with about 7 grams of protein) would work well and are easy to grab. |

I think it will help the blood sugar and keep you even during the day! You sure have long days teaching! |
