I have a friend that raises and trains GSDs and he had a couple of Witnesses that persisted on coming in to his home. He finally relented. He was on his way to work and they insisted they wouldn't take much of his time...yeah, right. Eventually, (they were sitting on his couch) he put his Alpha dog in a sit, stay, watch, guard mode and left for work. If the guests so much as moved the dog would pin its ears back and bare its teeth. They sat there until his wife got home from work, 2 hours later, and released the dog. They never returned, word got out to the rest of the church and they were never bothered again.

Mormons are always polite, neatly dressed, usually cute and yes, take no for an answer. The city I live in doesn't allow anyone, religious or business to go door knocking without a permit from city hall which means they've had a background check and paid a fee. Otherwise we go after them, cite them and kick them out. Makes it nice.

We don't answer our door if we're not expecting anyone. Not only bc I can't stand being solicited...but also bc I don't support pushing religion on others, no matter the reason. We had the Jehovah's Witnesses come to our door a few times. I thought they were polite. They offered me their pamphlet and I told them i'd be happy to take it if they would take a copy of the Book of Mormon (I really would have taken their paper, too!). They haven't been back since then.

To me, the most obnoxious was after a huge storm a tree took out our roof, and the next mroning DOZENS of business folks stopped by to offer us their wonderful deals to fix our roof. :rolleyes:

I am making a small sign today, and putting it on our brick steps; they'll have to see it when they start to walk up, and no one else will notice it from the street. I couldn't find a doormat.

What I am pretty sure of is that none of the above would be going door to door knocking, looking for disciples. They all had people come to them.

You're right, but you left out the post office!! Last year I was waiting for my son's college grad invitations. I had received an email stating that they were enroute. I waited and waited. The tracking number stated that they were delivered:eek:, but where. They were delivered to an unoccupied house next door. They sat on their top steps, in the rain for two weeks while I was calling the publisher and printer, trying to find out where they were. The invites were damaged, but UNC was really nice when I explained what happened, and sent another order with over-night delivery. I went to the post office, and was furious. I brought the damaged, molded package with me and filed a complaint. I had to fight to get some type of compensation...they allowed me to sent all 75 invitations with over night delivery, since it was their fault.
I have watched all three of them drop of packages, and leave. No attempt to ring the door bell.

I have my signs ready for Sunday. I will wait and watch. If they ignore the signs, then we will have to have another talk.
