Problems with Dr. Pepper?? Ok, this may sound strange but for months now I've had problems with Dr. Pepper (plastic) bottles I've bought (the six packs). Usually I shop at Super WalMart for groceries so I stopped buying them there but now a 6 pack that I bought at HEB has the same problem. Even though they most likely come from the same distributor, the bottles are shaped slightly different (don't know why!). The problem is that when I open a bottle it barely fizzes and then tastes flat. I can understand a random problem every once in a blue moon but I bet this has happened to me with at LEAST 6 or 7 six-packs from WalMart and now one from HEB. And no, I don't take the stupid things back to the store for a refund. I don't have time to jack with the idiots at WalMart. I did happen to come across a DP delivery guy one day at WM and told him about it. His response? Blank look and basically no response. Intelligent. My next step is to call the local Dr. Pepper bottling place to find out if I'm the only idiot reporting this. But seriously, anyone have this problem where you live?? |

I do that whenever I have a problem with a company's product. Also called to praise products and have received coupons for that product free as a thank you:) |

Okay, gave him the lot number and SKU number and all other kinds of info off one of the bottles. Will probably never hear of what the problem is but he's sending me coupons for free 12 pk cans. I really wish I could hear what's causing this though. |
I haven't had any problems with my Dr. Pepper lately, but I don't buy that size of bottles. It's good you're getting the coupon for a free 12 pack :), but it would be nice to know if/when they've fixed the problem. |

I got a letter back a few weeks later explaining what it was (forget what it was now, but wasn't anything harmful) and they enclosed about half a dozen coupons for free Smart Ones and also several coupons for cents off. It pays to let the company know:) |
Yes, the coupon is nice but I've probably wasted about $30 over the last six months or so dealing with this problem. It just can't be possible that I'm the ONLY person buying the dud ones. Hopefully other people have complained. I just wish I would get a real response as to what the findings are. I told him I was really curious to know what they find out. Who knows.... he said he would put in the notes that I would like to know that. We'll see. |
They (DR. Pepper-Coke-Pepsi) all of them have a stale date code on the cans-bottles . How do I know this because I buy Cokes especially for when my son comes to visit. I was buying either on sale cokes or too many and they would sit in my cabinet between his visits. He started fussing because my drinks were always flat or stale tasting- He told be to look on the cans before I bought to make sure they were fresh. Hope this helps. |
Problem with Dr. Pepper They(Dr. Pepper, Coke, and Pepsi) all of the print a stale date code on the cans/ bottles. How do I know this??? I always have Coke on hand for when my son comes to visit. He complained that the Cokes always tasted flat or stale and asked how long had I had them. I said why they don't spoil!!!!I told him I didn't really know I just replenish the supply between his visits- either on sale or otherwise. He said to check the dates from now on to make sure I was buying fresh drinks. |
I love Dr. Pepper! I don't buy the little bottles though. I buy the 3 liters and 2 liters and they taste fine. I hope they resolve it b/c there's nothing worse than a flat soda. That's the main reason why I don't buy the knock offs, they always taste flat! |

I doubt I'll ever hear what the verdict is but I just wish they would get the problem figured out. I'm going to try buying my DP 6 packs here in the town I work in instead of my home town. Maybe the 60 miles difference will mean it's a whole different bottling place. Who knows. |
Since they are plastic bottles, maybe you could give them a squeeze before you buy them. It seems that the bottle of a well-carbonated drink would have absolutely no "give" at all, and maybe a flat one could be pushed in a little? |

no problems with Dr. Pepper....but I must say the Dr. Pepper Cherry is amazing! |
We once bought some diet coke cans and one of the cans actually had nothing in it. It was completely closed. I called the consumer # on the can and got a coupom for free 6 pk. Two months later the same thing happened. Called again got another coupon. I told them it was the 2nd time. Never got a reason for it. |
