Neighbor nightmare!
 

OMG, we have lived in our apartment for over a year now and this morning the old lady from next door stopped me (while i had my ARMS full of laundrey, and my dog is sitting in a HOT car), ok... so you can see my attitude alrleady right??? well she tells me "I just wanted to let you know that when you slam the door the whoel apartment complex can hear it and it is disturbing", she did it in this really anoyying whisper so that i had to strain to hear her, and i was nice and apologized and told her that when i have my arms full of laundrey i kick the door shut so the animals dont get out, she kept going on and on about how loud it is (liek i didnt get it the first time) and then she goes on to tell me that she hears it really late at night too :confused: i told her i come home around ten and dont go out again ever because i study, and she tells me about how she was hesitant to interfear because of the "situation" that my husband and i might be going through... i look completely dumbfounded and ask her what in the hell she is talking about and she goes on and on about how she thought that the slamming doors was becasue we were fighting and that my husband might have a temper and that she prayed for me three times a day blah blah blah blah blah blah blah...
at the praying part i turned around and walked away and said "thank you" over my shoulder....

Ok, now here is the lowdown (which i didnt have time to relay to her because she was too busy telling me how horrible a husband i have :rolleyes: ) our door STICKs so when you open it, yes,, it is a bit loud.... the late and night thing OBVIOUSLY isnt us (more likely OUR next door neighbor on the other side) we sort of have to ram our door to get it to open right (and we have lived hear a year and it has always been like this and have never recieved any complaints in teh past and we have talked to her on MANY occasions in passing)

I am truly annoyed, am i overreacting?????

Hi I know how annoyed you must have been especially when you have to live right next door and everything but I really wouldnt let it get to you.When things like that happen to me I try and put things in to prospective and think of all the really terrible things that are going on in the world and usually It pales by comparison.Feel how you feel then let it go.good luck.

I would be extremly annoyed too! I dont think it is right of her to assume that there is fighting going on......she sounds like she has nothing better to do, than to butt into peoples personal lives. Next time she says something about your door tell her that you will get with the manager to have the door fixed. :D

I would call my landlord to have the door fixed so you can go in and out without disurbing others. I have been next to a neighbor with doors sticking, and the banging of the door drove me crazy too. But then there were 10 adults living there so all day it was bang, bang, bang.......... Until I called the landlord. But these neighbors were so rude when I tried asked them to be quieter , they would just not answer the door.

Yes!!! I would be annoyed!!! But I would have the landlord fix the door though. Sometimes people just dont have anything better to do than to put their noses where they dont belong. That is just how people are and they will never change. So I would have the door fixxed and hopefully she wont complain to you anymore!

Wow, some people really have alot of time on there hands....to much time. I commend you for being respectfull to a older person though. I guess everyone has that one nosey neighbor, who always has to be in every elses mix. If she was so concerned about your husbands so called temper, she would of said something a long time ago about it, it just looks like she wanted an oppurtunity to annoy someone, mission accomplished, because i'm annoyed by her and i've never even met her. :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Not worth getting your blood pressure up! The poor thing probably doesn't have much of a life. Kill her with kindness.

sorry, i didnt get to finish my post completely because "my husband with a temper" came home..... the door has been "fixed" several times with no success, it has been rehung, shaved, oiled, ect... and nothing seems to work. so its not for a lack of trying to fix it... I did tell this to the nosy old bat but she wouldnt hear any of it and just kept suggesting the same stuff that i allready told her we did.... my fiance is telling me the same thing "just get over it.... what does she know?"

Well if that was me.....it would annoy me....but then she is an old woman....some have nothing better to do than rant & rave over nothing....& i would take into consideration,the fact she is elderly :confused:
Maybe if you could get your door fixed...hopefully she would have nothing more to complain about....

old... not like ancient, but geez i am really bad at guessing, maybe 70?

She might be one of those nosey ladies that listen for everything, but hear's nothing...Like it was said kill her with kindness. :confused:
