***School voice mail message****** |
while i find this funny,i have to say that as a parent for the first time schools can be frustrating. i got custody of my brother and sister late last school. year and they wear already settled into there work and doing okay but school has been in session for less then a week and i have had teacher from both schools tell me they need to speak to a real parent, and if i have ever wanted to cuss someone out it was then.so while i find this very funny i feel for the parents. |
That's too funny. I'm going to pass it on to several teacher friends of mine. |
See, I find that extremely funny since I work at a school and this is exactly the kind of calls you get on a daily basis . . .:p |
Lol, that was funny, I could hear the frustration. I've got to admit I loved the bit about, "if you want this in another language, move to a country that speaks it." :D |
Love it!!! Very funny |
Hmmm. If I got that message at my child's school, I wouldn't be too happy. Certainly, that message does NOT apply to all the children OR their involved parents. |

:eyetearssThat was so funny. It's the way teachers feel though.... I only teach Preschool and it seems like the parents expect us to prepare their kids for Harvard and not Kindergarten. They don't realize that pushing their kids too young will make them hate school.....and become like the kids whose parents need to hear a message like that.:jump28ib: We'd get sued for having a message like that in America. |

I personally give you a LOT of credit. As a clinical psychologist and social worker, I have come across a few situations such as yours and I admire when the oldest child steps up to the plate when required to. You show a lot of sense and responsibility. I admire you as well. We never know how strong we are until we truly need to be. As the time goes on the teachers and authorities will also pass this admiration and respect on to you for all your endeavors. Sure wish there were more people like you so that there would be less children bounced through the foster system. |
sorry i have had a busy week. It turns out i will be pulling my teen out of the high school next door and putting her in the one 5 miles away that's technically in another city. i have been on the phone with the English teacher everyday this week one day she insisted she be given the phone number of a "grown person" when i told her all there was was me she hung up. but i graduated from the high school one town over and i know the people there will understand, the principal of this school went to court as a character reference when i got custody. my ten year old loves his school and will be staying his teacher was very understanding when the situation was explained she even gave me a contact number for Big Brothers,Big Sisters so we could apply for him because the only male he has in his life is the dog thank you all for the compliments but the way i see it is what kind of person would i be if i let them go into foster care all we have are each other so if i let them go we would all be alone Kodi 10 would have been placed in a foster home and Marsha 16 would have gone to a work/study group home until she hit 18. i love my brother and sister and if they cant count on mom,dad and grandma then i let them down they would have lost all fath in the world |

Also how unprofessional of them. There are far better ways to handle this and what if I as a parent call the school to say my child is in hospital and that his sibling did not get his homework done because of that. Or some other real concern like bullying and there is no push number 10 for that. I would hit the roof and there would not be swear words used but I would be looking for someones job. Like the principle for his lack of judgment as he is not able to control his staff he or she is not able to lead my child. Lastly how immature of a group of adults to vote that they thought that was ok to have on a school phone can we say peer pressure. JL |
