So excited!!!! and nervous... and thrilled... and scared! I got a motorcycle!!! I got my license 3 years ago... but just now was able to afford a semi-beater bike! I got a 1983 Honda Nighthawk 450. It's OLD... but in almost mint condition, runs great and rides really smooth! For an old beater bike its seems perfect! Drove it up and down the road about 8 times last night getting used to it. It's so fun and kind of nerve-wracking at the same time. I live on a dead end road with hardly any traffic so it's perfect to get more comfortable on the bike. :) Any other lady riders here with some good advice? :D |
I have my motorcycle's license and i use to ride a few years ago. I had a Honda VLX 750. I loved it and it was beautiful. But...my life is so busy, there was many days that the bike just sat there and i wasn't doing alot of riding. So i decided to sell it. I do miss it sometimes. Congrats on your new bike. I am soooo excited for you! I always wanted to get a motorcyle (& license) and just never got to it. I think you may have just inspired me though to do it before I'm an old lady on a bike :rolleyes: Really happy for you! |
Hi there.... I am only a lady passenger but...New hampshire is the perfect place to have a motorcycle. We bring ours up camping(Warren) all the time. We just recently bought a newer bike it's a 1997 Honda Goldwing with 13,000 on it. It's very nice. However I am learning how to be a good passenger. I get a little nervous on this bike because I sit so much higher, I can see everything.(good and bad). I live on the Cape so I am pretty close to you. Congratulations on your bike. I see many more women riders than ever before. Mass offers a motorcycle class which I am going to take that is suppose to be real informative. My best friend just bought a Spider the three wheeler. It's pretty nice. My only advice is be careful. Always expect that nobody see's you or will let you pull out of traffic and enjoy it. We have a lot of fun on ours. |
I took the riding course in NH 3 years ago. It was good and I think I might take the experienced rider course next summer, it's a bit late this summer but I'll take it early next year. This summer will be just tooling up & down our road and getting used to riding, maybe I'll take it to my BFs parents house which is like 1.5 miles away, the roads b/t us are not very busy at all, there is a good chance I wouldn't pass one car! I liked being a passenger but it got to the point where I wanted to learn how to ride it all by myself. It's such a good feeling on the open road, the breeze, the thrill. I'm a thrill seeker in my own way, I'm deathly afraid of heights so sky diving it out, bungee jumping is out so this is my thrill! :) NH is a great place to have a bike.... so many people here have them and ride in the summer up to the Laconia area. When my BF gets his license we'll have to look for another cheapy bike so we both can ride. Fun fun! |
