Calling ALL Teachers
 
Okay, it is almost that time and I have started planning my classroom theme. I am thinking of going with a construction theme "Caution: Great Minds at Work" but an not sure how much decoration I will be able to find: traffic cones, caution tape, traffic signs, etc.

Any ideas using this theme or other theme ideas. I am not totally committed to this one.:rolleyes: I teach fifth grade so come on guys and help me.:)

I love the idea! I teach 8th grade math and really enjoy coming up with cool themes for them. It really gets their attention. In my area, we have stores that carry stuff like that for teachers. And if they don't have it they can order it. You might check online? Maybe google the items you are looking for? Good luck and I think it is a great idea!

I'm not a teacher (might be able to deal with 30 kids for...10 minutes tops:rolleyes:), but love the idea of having classroom themes. I only really ever had one (elementary). It was the rainforest. We learned about it throughout the year and then the room got decorated to resemble one (tubing from floor to ceiling resembling tree trunks and green construction paper loops connected together, we made them, as the greenery coming off the trunks). Then there was some sort of play for the parents.

Thanks so much. A few other teachers and myself usually make the trip Knxville and visit school supply stores. Things there can be so expensive but I like going to get ideas and make my own. :)

That sounds so fun. I wish we were not so stressed with standards today and were able to take a little time to teach something just for fun. I am always trying to find fun or interesting ways to teach our standards. Somedays I feel more like an entertainer than a teacher.:rolleyes:
