I have the shark and it works well. I have had it for about 2 years. I had used Swiffer on the bathroom (ceramic tile), kitchen (pine), and breakfast nook (vinyl) and it took several months to remove the soap residue. It really helps to sweep it real well to pick up any loose sand & soil on the floor before using it, just to keep it out of the pads and out of the washer. The floor dries fast and clean. I used it to clean a house that was empty after the people moved out and used it on the kitchen counters and cabinet's also. The pads wash out good. They had 3 large dogs that wore belly bands and I hit several patches of dried urine with the steam and that was kind of gross. Hot and smelly. I have 9 pads & the only time I used all of them was cleaning that house.
From reading the reviews before my purchase I noticed alot of people were breaking the handle. It is not very sturdy and I can see if you use a side-to-side motion instead of a back and forth motion the handle could weaken and snap.
My sister has the Bissell and loves that one.

I love my bissell! I use it all the time on my kitchen and bathroom floors. It is very well made!

I have been looking at this infomercial that features a smaller hand helpd that I would love to use on counter tops, refrigerators, blinds etc. They also say it is great for pet stains.

I too have the Shark and think it works great!

I use it on my laminate and tile floors. I like how fast it dries and the shine it leaves.

But have also used it on my big living room rug, but the rug takes a while to dry.

Thank you soooo much for posting that As Seen On TV site. I am looking for a steam cleaner, but, I saw a collegiate snuggies link on that site and had to order a UNC one for my son. (He graduated from UNC-CH last year:)) I plan to order to order two more, one for me and one for my hubby. I can't wait until he gets it. He'll be so surprised!
Now, back to looking for steam cleaners...;)

I have a steam cleaner but do not like it on my tile floors as the steam ends up to be water in my grout lines.

I bought the Hoover Floor Mate and love it! It has two tanks...one to put the water on the floor and the other for the dirty water to collect. It is wonderful!
