Pictures from meeting my birth sons Mother. 2 Attachment(s) I met my birth son 3 years ago, 36 years after giving him up for adoption at birth. I ended up getting back with his birth father (now my husband) and we had our daughter who is 24. Ironically, his adopted parents divorced when he was 2. Saturday at a surprise party for my DIL I finally met his Mother and step father who helped raise him. It was kind of an unplanned meeting but went really well. It was very emotional and she gave me a photo album of his life through the years. Very touching. Here's a couple of pictures. The picture is from left to right, his step dad, his Mom, my birth son,me, my DH, and my DD. I am attaching a link to a picture someone took at the party of our first meeting. I don't know if it will work since it is from Facebook. Content Not Found | Facebook |

Thanks. I know when I first saw him it was like looking into my own eyes. The photo album of his life that his mom gave me has two pictures of him when he was 1 and 2.The poses are the exact same as two I have of my dtr at that age. They look identical, except for the clothes, I wouldn't be able to tell then apart. As they got older they didn't look so much a like. But during his teen years he looked like me and as an adult he looks just like my youngest brother. Very emotional. Thanks for letting me share. |
What a great story and one you just don't hear often - being adopted I had always wanted to meet my 'birth' mother but love my parents so much - it just seems moot. Good for you Patti - I know how much all this has meant to you ! |
That is amazing and great! You must feel so good to have met them and see him and the picture album, how thoughtful of her. :) Great pics, beautiful family Patti!! :) |
What a special for all of you! The photo album was a nice surprise from her. |
Hi Patti, I just knew it was going to be a wonderful gathering, how could it not have been. Everyones beautiful smile says it all, a gathering of which God meant it to be. Your son is a very handsome guy, looks so much like his Mama That was so nice of her to do the album for you. I sure am anxious to hear how Pixie is doing, I am claiming the news will be good Patti, that your vet has positive report awaiting tomorrow for you...... NO SURGERY NEEDED Love and Hugs to you, From the both of us, Patti and Jack |
Isn't it great how everything works out even better than what we "plan" it sometimes? God is so good and I am thrilled that He has blessed your relationship with not only your son but with the woman who raised him. |
Thank you for sharing this - what an incredibly special day that must've been! And what a treasure to now have that picture album :). |
LOVE it! Thank you for sharing your story and pictures of your meeting. I think that there might be many more stories to come with the recent changes to the adoption laws in the State of IL. |
Congrats! It's wonderful to be able to do that. |
That is very special....thanks for sharing. My two daughters are both adopted and I keep in touch with their biological families. What a wonderful gift you gave your son's adoptive parents. God bless you for that!!!!!! |
How wonderful!!! I too, am a birth mother. I found my daughter 6 years ago in July. We have developed a wonderful relationship. I'm so happy for you!! |
What a wonderful story. :) |

That is so wonderful that you were able to reunite!! |
Patti! I loved seeing the pictures and it does my heart good that you all have found each other and now meeting his adoptive parents. I just knew that she would be nothing but grateful to you for the precious and unselfish gift you gave her. They look like a nice couple and I'm sure you will be keeping in touch from here on in. Bless your heart! Thanks for sharing the pictures! Love you! |
Thanks. It is my birth son's 39th birthday today. I think a lot of stress has been taken off of him now that his Mom met us. |
