Need YOUR fashion advice please! 1 Attachment(s) Hello all, I will be going to Catholic christening for my friends first child. He told me that I can wear whatever I would like because people will probably be wearing a range from casual to formal. This is my first time going to such an occasion; I don't want to dress too casually, but I dont want to dress up while showing too much. Is this dress ok? PS. that is not me in the picture =P just the dress is showing my shoulders too much? Thanks for all your help! :animal-pa |
I've never been to a christening, but that dress is cute! |
it would fit the situation fine but i don't think i would go with the black maybe find one in a blue bottom even a dark navy blue would be okay but really dont think the black would be appropriate |

I think that is fine and it's very pretty! |
dress is perfect and fine! black works today--go for it! |
I think it is adorable. |
I would say it depends on where the reception is after the church service. If it is a semi-formal place then the dress is perfect. BTW, the dress is Beautiful. If the place is home or more casual I would opt for something else. And the shoulders are fine for church. Good luck. |
I just went to a christening on saturday. Most of the women were wearing dresses. the main family and god mother had a more formal dress and the rest were formal to casual, like sun dresses. Some women had on pants (any color, some very nice jeans) and a nice top. I wore pants and a top i just picked up from Anthropology. |
The dress is very nice - but may be a little too formal if your friend says casual. Baring shoulders is fine in most Catholic churches. A good rule of thumb for Catholic Christenings - if the Baptism is part of the mass, dress up a little bit more. If it is separate from the mass and is s a service on it's own, casual is good. Godparents and parents will usually be the dressiest..... |
it will be part of a mass; maybe i should have talked to the wifey lol, he is a guy after all. =P (half heartedly joking) thank you all for your input! :animal-pa |
