Ok, so it was nothing like I thought it would be. The previews though.... they're just giving it away!

chandracz 06-29-2010 10:44 AM

yes they ARE giving it away!!!!!!

AllDogBoots 06-29-2010 10:46 AM

What do you mean they are giving it away? :o

DvlshAngel985 06-29-2010 10:51 AM

What happens next. At the end of the episode Ali announces they are going to Portugal for the next episode, then they show who's parents she's meeting, I'm guessing that's episode after that, then they show one of the last destinations and who she's with. How is that not giving it away?

I still think somehow she winds up with Frank. Who's parents were the ones who had the stuffed animals? (stuffed as in stuffed, not toys).

DvlshAngel985 06-29-2010 10:57 AM

??? They didn't specify, but I bet he's out if she's an animal lover. :p

I bet it's Ty. He lives out in the country somewhere. I don't really like Roberto - well i like him and only see passion, but don't see a relationship. I sorta like Ty until I now realize his dad kills animals. Chris is a nice guy but I have a feeling he's a little too mushy. I'm still pushing for Frank although I have a feeling I'm going to be really angry with the next episode.

Doodlebug 06-29-2010 11:12 AM

After last night I get the feeling that she won't find her husband. Ali was on jimmy kimmel last night and he asked her if she would let Jake come on the show as a contender and she said NO! lol

Is there any more info on why Jake and Vienna broke up? I am dying to know what happened. I saw the tail end of Jake on "Extra" where he was talking about it.

I did not see that season of the Bachelor. Were Jake and Ali meant to be??

He liked Ali a lot but I don't know that she was THE ONE. She told him that her boss told her she had to come back to work or lose her job. She cried when she told Jake and she didn't want to leave Jake. In the end she left. I don't think Jake wanted her to leave at the time. After she left the show she had a change of heart and wanted to come back. By that time Jake was so into Vienna that he told her he didn't want her to come back.

Ali had been saying all along that if he is the kind of guy who liked Vienna then he was not the guy for her. I thought at the time that she invented this drama to force him to eliminate Vienna, which he didn't.

I thought the parents were Frank's...

Nope. i believe if Jake were genuinely out to meet a wife then he was meant to be with Tenley. JMO

DvlshAngel985 06-30-2010 05:31 AM

But Tenley is going to be on the all new "Bachelor Pad" show. I'm disappointed to be honest. I thought she had class.

viviansnickers 06-30-2010 05:57 AM

WTH is the Bachelor Pad going to be about? All the past people hooking up b/c they have nothing else to do?? They did put many of the hotties on it!!!

I so agree they are showing too much in the previews of Tahiti and such but it did suck me in even more. And why would they show SO MUCH about Frank. When she left Jake, he was a little emotional, but not like how Ali is when she gets "whetever news" from Frank. She says something about someone being selfish. If I saw her getting all crazy emotional over Frank and I was one of the other guys trying to be w/ her, I'd be outta there!!!!!

Most of these relationships don't work out...so whatever! I think Jake broke up with Vienna b/c well......it's Vienna!!! I don't think she is horrid, but not really a quality girl in my opinion.

Smiles-
Viv

Are any of the Bachelor/Bachelorette couples still together? I can't remember their names but what about the blonde woman and the firefighter?

I know only 2 couples are married, Trista and Ryan, the first bachelorette, and Molly and the bachelor (I don't remember his name). I think in the last bachelor wedding they did a re cap on who is still together, and I think at most 2 couples are still together, the hot dog girl is one of them, and this other couple. Geez I'm bad with names.

adding my two cents here. i think you guys are right about the taxidermy family being Ty's family. and someone mentioned that made them not like TY anymore...i have to ask why having a father who is a professional taxidermist makes you not like Ty. My father is a full time federal and state licensed taxidermist and i'm the biggest animal lover there ever was. I love all creatures, but I also am able to understand that meat and protein is needed for a healthy diet and have no problem with taking the life of a deer, turkey ext. in order to survive and feed the family. we use all the meat from our kills and we eat it all winter long for food. the mounting of the deer to me is like a beautiful tribute to the beauty of that animal. my father's work is like an art form. it's so precise and perfect. they last forever and are beautiful pieces of art that happen to be preserved animals. it's a very neat career and it's how we survive. if it weren't for his job we'd probably have nothing. it doesn't make that much money to be honest and most profit goes back into the business so you are always needing more money, but he loves it and it's his life. i don't think disliking someone for making a living off of using beautiful bodies of animals as art and as a tribute to their beauty is a bad thing. i know it's defin. not up to PETA standards or anything, but for some of us out there it's a normal part of life and not weird and gross at all. i just had to mention that because it hurt my feelings just a little bit that someone wouldn't like a person anymore due to their family's work. i'm not upset, but i had to at least let you guys know that there are good wonderful animal loving people out there that have different or unusual jobs to earn a living and they are normal people just like anyone else and not horrible or mean people for making a living off of something that people want to have done and buy. for the record we have the utmost respect for the animals we hunt for food and always make a clean and quick kill and have total respect for the body and the life we have taken to feed us. it's nothing barbaric or evil, it's very natural and beautiful in a way. seeing a large buck in the field is the most beautiful thing on earth, taking that life to feed the family is a hard decision, but it's part of our lives and we give thanks to God for that animal's life to feed our family. i know this can be hard to understand for some people. but that's how i grew up and it's 100% normal and everyday life for me.

that's all i wanted to say. Thanks

It's incredible sometimes hearing the other side's of stories. I consider myself a fairly considerate person and never once even thought about this. What an eye opener. I'm sorry if I hurt you.

oh it's okay. you didn't really bother me much. i know it's a very unusal thing for most people, but it's really just life for us. i am so proud of my dad and his work. he's a wonderful and loving man. i just had to at least let people know that taxidermy isn't really as awful as they portray it on TV. it's really quite interesting and cool. for instance i have a beautiful antler lamp my dad made me. the antlers were from sheds that someone found in the woods as deer naturally shed their antlers once a year. they make beautiful and interesting lamps and chandeliers. my dad also mounted the trout that we caught (dh and I) when we got engaged at the springs during our trout fishing trip. he used rock that he secretly had brought back via the MO dept. of conservation agents to his shop and had the stones put on the base of the display under the fish. it's such a beautiful memory of that time and trip and the fish are handpainted and as lovely as the day we caught them. memory forever preserved.

a lot of the deer he does are memories for other people. first deer they got sitting in a tree stand next to grandpa Joe as a 11yr old boy. or the biggest deer i ever got and ever will get and when asked I can tell you the whole story from sitting down at the stand at 5am until i finally saw him right before the sun went down standing there snorting in the winter cold. i mean these are memories for people. they are beautiful things that mark a moment in the hunter's lives. so i guess to us it's not weird but very very neat.

sorry to keep rambling, but like you i like to see both sides of all stories and try to keep my mind open to all aspects of life.

You hit the nail on the head here. I don't understand it to be honest. Taxidermy is just odd to me. Why? What purpose does it serve? I guess I have to see it in person. I mean no disrespect, I just don't get it. You're explanation about eating meat, that I understand because I'm an omnivore too! The only "stuffed" animal I've seen was a giant anteater (my school's symbol) hidden in one of the corridors of the school. I had never been to that side of the school before, and ran into it. It was the oddest thing I had ever seen! But it looked fake.

I have been to a Body Worlds exhibit and I thought that was amazing! I loved all the exhibits because I always want to know how things worked. Everything was displayed. The muscles, the nervous system, the digestive system, cardiovascular, all the muscle placements and on and on. It was very educational! So is taxidermy the same thing?

Well not exactly. i mean granted i've seen my fair share of the insides of animals. in fact i got to pull lymph nodes from deer heads to be tested for chronic wasting disease. taxidermy i think is given a bad rep due to the HORRIBLE taxidermists out there that use their own tanning products to tan the hides that go on the forms. they then will pull away from the form and expose holes and fall apart and look very nasty and scary. my dad has his deer hides professionally tanned so they are everlasting and don't start to pull off and look all messed up. he is a perfectionist so they eyes are perfectly placed and every drop of paint and stich of a needle is just right.

here's how it works. we get the dead deer head, dad carefully skins the hide from the body and head. he cuts off the antlers and boils them to pure bone white in chemicals. he cuts all the meat from the hide and freezes them. then they thaw out and he salts it and lets it dry then sends it to a tanning company in MT. (his friend that hunts afriacan safari animals AMAZING) and we get them back beautifully tanned Hair on still kinda like a leather purse you might see. he then wets and stretches them out over a foam form made and measured to look like the deer. the hide is glued and then sewn onto the form on the back. he places glass eyes in, paints the original nose back to black, brushes and blowdries the hair and lets it all dry with cardboard to hold hair perfectly in place. it's a very precise and neat process. he does ONE deer head a day all year long. then he moves into fish in the summer months right before it's deer season again. fish are hand tanned by him and stretched over a foam form with glass eyes and each scale is hand painted with an airbrush to look exactly like the fish they are. it's amazing.

my fav. is bob cats, coyotes, bear, elk, quail, and other types of animals. deer heads get old. all racks no matter how huge look that same to you after awhile, yet each is so different and so unique. but i just love his work and it's so beautiful to see it finished and looking like it did in life. he puts them sometimes into beautiful scenery like a museum display you might have seen. on wooded tree like things with grass and rock on the bottom of the display.

sorry to take such a big long part of the thread. but i wanted to explain what it's really like. it's not scary or weird. it's really quite beautiful. it's a preservation of a beautiful creature and a memory of hunting and capsuring a large trophy animal.

the cool ones are african animals, my dad has done some things for famous people like Tom Teague, he's a ranch owner sometimes you'll see him on PBR bull riding shows with his bulls he raised. he also has two deer ranch and is the owner of the first 30 30 buck. 30 points, 30 inch spread. WOW. dad did a ton of his african animals and had to learn all these new colors and techniques to make them look realistic and just like they were when stalking the jungle.

i hope that makes some more sense to you. if you saw his work you'd love it. it's not nearly as creepy as the halls and walls of a museum or university with falling apart creepy animals heads looking at you. his are so much nicer than that.

thanks for letting me share...LOVE YOU ALL

Doodlebug 07-02-2010 12:16 PM

We have a Bass Pro shop here and in the middle of the store there is a huge man-made mountain. There are all kinds of bears and mountain lions, prairie dogs, etc posed on the mountain and on the ground below it. It is really amazing. There is a plaque by each one telling the name of the animal, where it was killed and the year. I think it is really educational to see what these animals actually look like and where they are from since I'm pretty sure I will never see most of them in person (at least I hope not). If you ever get a chance to go in a Bass Pro shop it is pretty cool.

speaking of the drama...oh my gosh it was horrible tonight huhh???:eek:

and BTW... we don't really care about the dog Vienna ! LOL line of the night, it had me rolling on the floor :p:D

i wanted more Allie and much less A HOLE Jake and crazy Vienna.

He is the meanest SOB i've ever seen on TV. what a complete JERK. i hate his guts and thank God Allie didn't end up with that butt hole.

Vienna, i know no one really liked her, but i feel really sorry for her now. he was mean to her, granted she talks over him a lot, but i believe he is a TV whore and he's all about fame and not about loving her. i'm sure she was telling the truth and he really is as big an A$$ as he was acting on live tv. anyways. i hope Frank and her still work out despite his big "secret" and i hope that she's happy and not with a total freak because she's a sweet seeming girl...

GO ALLIE.

Ringo1 07-05-2010 06:44 PM

Did anyone watch the trainwreck otherwise known as Jake and Vienna tonight? Who's telling the truth?

AllDogBoots 07-05-2010 06:46 PM

I don't know Jake and Vienna because I didn't watch last season. I for one, could never put up with either of them. I find her totally annoying and him verbally abusive. Thank goodness Ali didn't wind up with him.

The rest of the show was totally boring.

DvlshAngel985 07-06-2010 05:41 AM

I'm watching it right now and I'm here. :p I'm sorry, this is boring. The date with Roberto was fine, somewhat entertaining, but the rest so far. BLAH.

BaxtersMommy 07-06-2010 06:07 AM

Just got thru watching it. I hope Allie chooses Roberto or Chris. :)
As for Jake and Vienna, well she did this drama crap with the other girls. So, I am not surprised. She would not shut up when Jake was talking and I don't blame him for raising his voice. She is a wackadoodle. :p

DvlshAngel985 07-06-2010 06:14 AM
