I am so tired of horrible owners! Today when I approached the animal health room at the shelter where I volunteer I heard a dog crying. I thought how strange since the room I work in is the cat isolation room. So I went in and a little chihuahua was in the bottom cage crying. I went over to him and he kind of snarled his lip at me. Did the same to another worker who came in the room. When the girl who works there came in she told me that yesterday when she got to work at 5:30 am, he was outside the door in a crate with food and a bottle of water on top of it. They put him in the dog iso kennels and he was too freaked out. So she brought him in by her. She let him out and he jumped all over her. He was already attaching to her. There wasn't much paperwork for me to do so I asked if i could take him out and work with him for awhile. With in 10 minutes he would let me approach him. Another 10 minutes he was in my arms getting hugs and kisses. He hadn't eaten since being there. I started hand feeding him and within minutes he had gobbled up his food by himself. I just knew if I could get him use to other people he will get a home quicker. He is so cute. They guess he is about 2, not neutered and the people didn't even leave his name some where on the cage. So they are calling him Baby boy. Then they got in 2 pit bulls from a humane investigation and they think one was used to train the fighter one on. They are so aggressive, they can't get near them. I just wonder how people can treat animals so horribly. Then I come on here and see how we treat our babies and wonder why all of them can't have that. Thanks I just needed to vent a little |
with you all the way |
that is so sad:( i watch animal cops and all those shows and it just makes me so upset to see what people can do to animals. Just horrible |
It is stories like this that just make me so upset. There are so many horrible people that do god awful things to animals every day. :( Patti that was so kind that you are trying to work with the little Chi. You are right about him having a better chance if he is more socialized. What bothers me more then anything is all of the sick little ones that we hear about every day. Either their owners don't care, are unwilling, or just ignorant to the health of animals. There are so many people in this world that should not me pet owners. |
<sigh> There are some things I will never understand. :( |
I am sitting here with my two little angels, giving them their nightly treat and getting sweet kisses. It breaks my heart when I think of all the animals out there in the world right now being mistreated or going hungry, not getting loved and being pampered like all living creatures deserve. When I look into my babies bright eyes I can see the love and trust they put in me to take care of them. How in the world someone could mistreat such sweet creatures I will never understand. |
I am so amazed at the staff at the shelter. They truly love each one that comes in and no expense is spared on medical care. I know these workers make very little but are so dedicated to the care of these poor babies. |
Very sad that people can be so ugly to innocent animals:( |

I hope he continues to progress = |
How can people do that? He might have been there all night and had to have been scared to death. Hopefullly someone loving will get him and give him a home for the rest of his life. |
Bless you for doing what you do. I hope that he Baby Boy finds a loving furever home soon. |
He will be neutered early next week and out of isolation so I am hoping he will be in his forever home next weekend. |
Baby Boy's story just breaks my heart :( I hope he goes to a wonderful home that spoils him the way he deserves. It's a good thing he has you to show him that we are not all bad humans! |
