Thing is, she only works part time, so the most the dog (Zoie, girl! sorry I never mentioned that) is home alone for is 4 hours. And that is only like 3 days a week or something. Really this dog cannot really go to anyone because this kind of damage was done in 1.5 hours, while she went food shopping. Not to mention that Zoie was gated and broke out (left blood marks all over the door from her paws and nose) and then made the rest of this damage all in the course of food shopping time! I mean a person would literally have to be home bound to care for this dog. :( Its so horrible. :( Poor puppy and poor them! This is not the first time this dog has done this kind of damage either, this has been going on for 5 years, since they got her as a pound puppy at 6 months old. yeah she does have a chain link fenced in yard that Zoie is now relegated to until they find a more permanent solution. I really REALLY do not think they will put her down, I think that was a knee jerk reaction to seeing that damage, but they are at their wits end and they are SOOOOOO sad because they know she is anxious and they love her to pieces, they must, if they deal with this for 5 years now. |

what about medication ? They do offer that for pets with emotional problems - it's worth looking into and even if she can't keep him - maybe there's the right person out there that will be able to give him the extra care and medical attention he needs - and he really seems to need it |

They won't put this dog to sleep. They would give her up to someone who has more of an environment that would work better for her. PTS is not really an option for my friend. Her hubby who has to do all the repairs to the house over and over again, might have a different view, but when it comes down to it, he wouldn't do it either. They LOVE this dog. Honestly they really really love her. She was on meds for anxiety. That is what the vet thinks caused this type of 'melt down' .... the vet said she got all the side effects of the drugs, so they took her off and are going to start her on something new in a few days when they know the other meds are completely out of her system. My friend has had all the medical tests done and this dog is physically in good health. Just mentally not! |
