Just venting, pay me no mind. Today is trash day. Will take forever to get rid of all the debree from Rita. Upon returning home people had to clean out their fridges and put it out by the street. This hurricaine was SEPT 23! It's still there and smells all to be damned. Have had to keep Gizmo on a leash to do his business. The next door neighbor was in tears yesterday because her cat got into someones trash and ate the rotten food, crawled up under her house and died. The cat was Giz's girlfriend. Everytime we take him out he heads over there looking for her. Hopefully more will be hauled off today. Poor Ms. Kitty. My fridge is out by the street, the road is lined with them. Hope to get a new one when we actually see a FEMA type person up close in the flesh. Not gonna hold my breath on that one. |
OMG! I really feel for you, I hope you guys are doing ok! Yes, they defintly need to come do some kind of pickup, God only knows what diseases are breeding in that mess!!! You guys are in our prayers, EVERYONE is who was a hurricane victim!!! :) |
Omg..that is horrible, Those are the kind of things that noone thinks abt,,when you see the BIG picture, on the news, etc,, that is unreal! I feel for you,, and that poor kitty. I hope and pray things get better for you. |
I'm SO SORRY !!! Is there anything I can do ? I'm in Houston - don't know where Groves is but can I help ? |

This might be a stupid question, and if it is, forgive me. But, what are you doing for food if you have no fridge? I hope conditions improve - that's terrible. Poor kitty. |
Thanks guys, it will be ok. Just seems likes it will never be really over. The house, even dring down this now one laned street wreaks. My cable lines along with everyone elses are just piled up int the street. Speakin of THERE OUGHT TO BE A LAW AGAIST SPORTS ON ALL THREE CHANNELS ON WEEKENDS!!! But I digress. Each night there are announcements on a new line you have to get up before dawn to go stand in. Just because you have lights now doesn't mean there are a whole lot of places left to shop or go eat for that matter. Gas, thankfully has leveled at 2.47 here. Gotta jump in the bubbles and head out to work. We're kinda crippled there at the lumber store but hopping. Everyones trying to fix their places. The whole city is still wimpering and licking their wounds. Villete, Groves is down the street from Port Arthur. Thank you all for your well wishes. There are many in worse shape than I, but we are all helping each other. Took this to meet my neighbors and make new friends. |
First...I AGREE on the sports !! When the cable goes out - it just sucks doesn't it ? and I'm glad your neighbors are pitching in to help - I know where Port Arthur is - You guys really did get hit hard and I'm so sorry....We were expecting that but man - once we got what we got ...I can't imagine how bad it was there - I hope you have water and other necessities ...The government needs to really look long and hard at the relief efforts and their timing.... |
I'm so sorry you have to go through all this. I pray that things will get better for you and those effected by the storm. |
We don't know how lucky we are until something like this comes along and you see what a terrible time other people are having... |
I'm glad you and your baby Gizmo are fine. I hate reading about the conditions you are in though. Be safe always. I hope you'll be given the proper attention and care by FEMA. |
I hate hearing what a lot of you are going thru. and Im so sorry for that. |
The most important thing is you are safe. I'm so sorry you had to go through all this! My heart goes out to you! We will keep you in our prayers. Hang in there! :) :) :) :) :) |
