I need computer help~PLEASE I am not sure what I have done to one of my laptops but I can not longer open any pictures in the Windows Picture Viewer file. When I try I get a message that says: "Adobe Reader could not open 12432142134234123412.jpg because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged" I think I know what I did but now I don't know how to undo what I did :( I changed a setting while I was trying to scan something that needed to be sent as a PDF file. I'm positive it a setting for my Windows Picture views. Can anyone help me figure out where I was that I changed the set. I am so ticked off that I managed to do this and now don't know how to undo what I did. |
Maybe when LadyJane wakes up from her nap she can help you...:) |
I did a search on the net for: Adobe Reader could not open .jpg because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged and lots of info came up, maybe try that and see if anything is there to help you. |
It sounds like your file is trying to be opened by adobe reader instead of the windows picture viewer. To fix that (if it REALLY is a JPG file.. start by right clicking on the file. A menu will drop down .... se3lect the option "open with" and a new menu will drop down.. select windows picture viewer (or whatever picture viewer program you want to use) before you click ok.. also check the box that says "always use this program to open this file type" hope that helps feel free to pm me.. and I can call you and talk you thru it on the phone |
It sounds like when you downloaded something it automatically changed your default setting, I hate it when programs do this. Sometimes just updating something will change your default setting. Anyway, I think Sunnie's advice is good. |
