Just curious, why would you want laminate instead of the real thing? We have hardwood floors through out our house, and they are very easy to care for. |
I like the 2nd one better. |
We went with a lighter oak when we installed years ago.....and it did not show near as much. (We used an Armstrong product and also installed the pad.) In our new home we bought....they already had a darker laminate installed and it is much harder to keep looking clean....everything shows!! |

Well, we ended up getting the 1st one. I liked the color and DH liked the high gloss over the textured. Now comes the not-so-fun part of installing it but it will all be worth it when it's done! I'm so excited! |

actually the FUN PART IS INSTALLING IT!! Honestly!! I have never installed a floor before.. but I learned just by following the instructions and it was a breeze.. Mike is NOT handy. so I did most of the install. I measured all the cuts and he cut them. a table saw is essential. We did a 15 x 24 foot family room, a 12x 15 foot breakfast nook, a 12 x 20 foot entryway, and a 13 x 15 foot office in less than 2 days. |

Nice choice and enjoy! You tube has install videos if if have any problems. Please post after pics, I would love to see them :) |
We installed our laminate floors ourselves when we built our house. One thing I always tell people now.... be sure to keep a good gap at the ends where it butts up to the wall. We thought we had left enough but in one area it got really tight during a humid time when we had the windows all open and we got a bump in the floor. Hubby just removed the little molding and chipped away some of the end of the floor to give it more room to expand and then put the molding back on. Be sure to give it a week or so to acclimate to the house also before you start installing it. Don't just keep it outside in the garage... it needs to acclimate to the house temperature. Good luck! |

I was just checking in to see how your doing with the installation?:) |
Well, we haven't gotten the floors yet. I ordered them over a week ago but since I ordered them online they have to be shipped to a store close to us and then we have to go pick them up. I actually need to call today and see how much longer it's going to take because I am getting impatient! LOL. |
