Need Ideas for Fundraisers Hello, I co-captain a Relay for Life team every year and this year we're having a Bark for Life. Basically a Relay for Life for Dogs... Wondering if anyone has some ideas for a fundraiser I could do at the relay. I thought about selling bottles of water for the dogs as they walk but you need to have a permit from the Health Department to sell anything at these events and that adds a whole extra set of preparations to the ordeal. Any idea? Thanks! |
How about bandannas? They dont cost much to make. You could also possibly find cheap dog tshirts and put cute little sayings on them with iron on letters. Maybe some dog toys (place a big order from petedge or somewhere similar that has cheap toys and then sell them at the retail price) |

I like the shirt and dog toys ideas also! |
Do you have to have a permit to sell everything or just food type products? |
Get lifesavers (the individually wrapped ones or a little roll of them) and put a tag on them saying something like: "I am a LifeSaver for dogs"..... or whatever you want to put. Sell them for $1.00 In this economy, it is easier to get one dollar than a few! |
Ohhhh I did not think about the food. You might need a permit for that. I would focus on getting dollars, though! |

She may have to get a permit for the candy. I am trying to think of something else...... Getting tired...maybe something will come to me in the morning. |

I have a idea. Take a photo of the pet with the owner and sell it to them. There is little expense with that and almost everyone likes pics. |
Ohhh! Good Idea! I can just set up a background for the picture and bring my photo printer. hmmm |
I work at a dog friendly upscale hotel and we will be doing a few charity events this year. One event we are going to have will be a "black collar" event. We work with several dog stores and boutiques in the area. A few will be giving us baskets and girft certificates to enter into a raffle. All proceeds going to a pet charity/non-profit. Sometimes it just dosnt hurt to ask others to get involved. These stores and boutiques benifit from the exsposure and most dont mind to help out. |
Oh... and being an upscale hotel we cant really do t-shirts or hats. just not fitting for our clientel. Instead we have tote bags. The ones we order are about $3 a bag with our logo printed on it. I also dont wear hats or t-shirts so im more apt to pick up a tote bag then one of those. I use my tote all the time. Esp. if I'm going to be out with Lula all day to pack her food, treats, toys, etc. |
