What a funny joke! I get mistaken for my age too..people always think i'm younger than i am..i'm almost 37. Hubby and I went to Las Vegas for a weekend trip...and while i went up to the room to nap he went to the bar to have a few drinks. I told him i would come down to meet him after i was done napping.....Well a couple hours later, i came downstairs. i had my hair in a ponytail and didnt have any makeup on. While i was sitting myself down at the barstool , the bartender came over and said "Honey, you cant sit at the bar if you're not 18." My husband busted out laughing. I said to the guy "you're kidding me, right"? He said "No, you're going to have to show me some I.D" When i handed him my I.D and he realized I was 32 at the time...he said "Wow, i was wayyy off" ...gee, ya think? Hubby thought it would be funny to crack "little girl" jokes all weekend. |

Oh my... where do the years go? I was always much younger looking than I really am.... so when I bought my own townhouse at 28 (after selling my first house I bought with my ex fiance at 25) the neighbors came to welcome me to the neighborhood and they all thought I moved in with my parents. Noone could believe that I bought the place on my own and lived there alone. I was "too young", I even got carded for scratch tickets until I was like 27 or so! But now... I'm 33. Some people think that I don't look it, but most don't question it or seemed shocked anymore. :( soooo sad... :( I think once my skin clears up all the way and I drop 10 more lbs I'll look younger again. lol |
Great story OP! I laughed my eye make up right off! My stomach hurts too! That is good stuff. Love the other stories too people. Keep them coming. My friend and I always laugh about seeing someone and then walking away saying "wow I look good!" Then I remember that 40 is approaching faster than I would like, I better be nice. |
Those are all great stories. I love getting the "those can't possibly be YOUR kids" when people see them or see pictures. Sometimes I have to tell them my age or else they think I had them when I was 13 or something. I'm about to be 38 and my oldest turned 16 Sunday and the youngest will be 14 in May. Yay for good genes! Hope it continues! We had our 20th HS reunion this past summer and let me tell you, my best friend and I definitely looked the youngest there. :D |
I just had to send that to my friend. We have been friends since 7th grade. ....We graduated 30 yrs ago together. She will get a kick out of it. I do find myself looking at people that I graduated with and saying,"boy did they get old". Then I stop and think, "hey what are they saying about me?" You know what? I have earned every line on my face!!! They are staying there. I call them battle wounds. They made me who I am today. From all the sadness, to all the great happiness those lines are all mine and each one tells a story of where I've been. |
Haha, that is so funny! On a daily basis, people ask me if I am 10 or 12 years old. (I am 19) My favorite is, "I didn't know it was Take your Daughter to Work Day! Where's your mom?" People always tell me that someday I will appreciate looking so young. I am still waiting for that day.. |
