That is ridiculous! I'm all about being honest but RUDE and then hiding behind a cowardly statement of "this is the internet"? So if loveshay was standing in front of me it would be considered unacceptable to say whatever was in my head but is I am posting to her I can say blantantly statements? I guess the next time that LuvMyPuppe asks a questions I can say whatever I please to him/her and then hide behind the above statement but wait it won't matter because as they just stated the are INSENSITIVE  |

Yes, we did lose a child, and I guarantee you, if any parent gets a call that your child was hurt, the last thing they will do it get on the PC. That's really all I will say. Everyone has opinions. You are certainly entitled to yours. |

I have not lost a child but my son's best friend was in a horrific car accident and suffered a TBI at the age of 21. He is like my son~I know it is not the same as your own child but it was like a punch to the gut when I received that call. I still get a lump in my throat when I think about that day and know exactly where I was and what I was doing when I got that phone call. That is the closest that I EVER want to come to losing a child. :( Please accept my condolences for your son's passing. |
Brit, very sorry for your loss...time does not make it go away, but it becomes less difficult. Megansmomma, thank you. |

[quote=megansmomma;3068801]Now you have totally lost me  I wasn't even your Quote I was referring to the statement of Quote:
it would be unacceptable to be talking about what wonderful dogs pit bulls were if you were attending a funeral where someone's child was killed by a pit bull - yes. that isn't the case! it would have even been unacceptable online if someone had been defending pits or dogs without leashes - that didn't happen. and, yes, i do think it's funny that people get so upset about people going "off topic" in a thread - not even a thread about a sensitive subject, but any thread. furthermore, yes, you can say whatever you wish when addressing me (and you have). the difference is, i don't let people's opinions get to me because i stand by my own beliefs regardless of what someone says. |

I have read over that thread and over that thread and dont see how it was rude. So whatever people. I would think RUDE would be, "oh, that sweet pit bull, wonder what happend to the dog?!?!" No one did that people (biana jencar), everyone offered support and prayers for her son, so get over yourselves. Geesh! RUDE, is not saying that the Pit Bull that just put a child in the hospital is dangerous & non trusting!! DUH Lack of Compassion? This still ticks me off! How many of you spend ALL of your holidays helping the homeless and NEVER ONCE in your entire life spent a holiday NOT working!!!! As a Child I NEVER had Christmas by a tree. Instead, I was out in the cold learning about helping people. Today I got up at 4 am to minister and feed over 400 homeless in Dallas. We havent had a vacation in over 4 years because we have taken in 4 different people and given them a home. (VERY EXPENSIVE) So, for someone to READ something and make an assumption that I lack compassion is sickening. I dont need a pat on the back, but I certainly dont appreciate people making judgements when they know nothing about me. People are hypocrites and they judge on assumption. I cant stand people like that. FAKE! |
Admin Please close this thread. |
I think she was looking for prayers. When we received the call my pregnant SIL had been shot, immediatly after calling 911, I called my best friend from church to start the prayer chain my church has organized. At that moment, I just kept thinking God has to help us and she needs prayers. |

Again, you made the assumption we were going to debate. I simply said, I cant stand the dogs and you cant trust em. Nothing wrong with that. Next thing I know, people are quoting me, thumbs down and saying I lack compassion. I have stayed out of the YT drama, but this clearly ticked me off because the comments were unneccesary. I said my peace here. |

unless the OP comes out and complains - what's the problem? even if that had happened, i don't know that i would feel it was insensitive, but it would make a difference. that didn't happen. |

Yes all dogs need to be on a leash. When I see a dog running at my dogs when we are walking I'm afraid... but yes when it's a large dog I'm very afraid. But we have ruined so many breeds just to make them look different or to make them as small as they can and this is now the result, dogs with bad attitudes or dogs now with health problems. |
Quote:
I'm not even believing this:eek:. The OP may have been a little busy these past couple of days attending to her son...remember the son she had requested prayer for? So, as long as you don't feel something is insensitive, then it's okay? Perhaps you should check into to "sensitivity training". |

I honestly think any normal person would not be a fan of a pit when it hurt someone. Just give it up! You continually pointing fingers is not helping. It is over with. |
Quote:
Who said I was a fan of pits? Not once in these threads have I voiced my opinion of the breed - which, if you care to know is that, I'm NOT a fan of the breed at all! My only point/opinion was and remains - A persons prayer request thread is not the place for a debate on the breed. |

I think I got your point awhile ago. :) |
Next we can compare the Presa to the Fila to the Boerbel. There are good and bad in all breeds. Naturally the small breeds do a lot less damage, but I have seen a few 4 pound dogs that I would not want to run up against if they weighed 130 pounds. This thread is getting old, and nothing now is being accomplished. Everyone has their own opinion. I have made mine known, and that is my story and I am sticking to it! |
I agree. Why I asked that it be closed. |
