Things Kids Say! I think that with the spring coming up, everyone could use a little pick me up from winter. I thought a good and fun new thread would be for everyone to post cute/funny/sweet things kids say so we can all have a smile on our faces!!! |
When my little cousin was a year and a half old a raccoon came up to the back glass door. He went up to his mom and said "meoww!" and pulled her over to the door to see his meoww the raccoon sat and mirrored him in the back door for half an hour. |
Last year my granddaughter was bugging her mom (my daughter) about wanting a brother or a sister. I was visiting New York and Coral (my granddaughter) and I were having one of our little talks and she innocently asks me "Are you ever going to have any kids?".;) |
My nephew is 8. He reads everything and comprehends things way above his level. While in the car he was reading aloud all of the billboards they passed. Of course, they went by one of those "Wait to have S8X" ones... and of course reads it. So, the inevitable question pops out Nephew: "Mom, what's s8x?" (Dad continues to drive, tries to look busy, and is turning bright red...) Mom: "Well, it's when you have a girlfriend, and you spend a lot of close time together. And you only spend time with her, no other girls any more." Nephew: "Oh ok" Mom: "Any more questions?" Nephew: "No, not since I know I've had s8x" |
My 2 1/2, year old grandson spent the might a few weeks ago. He slept in my bed with me. When he woke up, he looked at me and said "are you Grrammy?" Apparently with my hair in a mess and no makeup I must have resembled Grammy, but he wasn't quite sure. |
When my dd was 6 we lived in the country. She is blind as a bat without her glasses. In the middle of winter the water line from our house to our lagoon broke. Our basement was heated with a wood stove. (all this is pertinent info, LOL) Well, one morning I hear a shrill of a scream come from the basement where my DD was. I dropped everything and ran down there and stopped cold in my tracks at the top the last stair and to my surprise! She said.."I thought it was dog poop but it jumped at me when I stepped over it." And right there on the floor in front of the stove, getting warm, all coiled up, was a "MAD!" baby bull snake, who came in through that broken line. It struck at her when she stepped over it. LOL! We love to tease her about it to this day when she is outside. We tell her to watch out for "piles of dog poop that moves!" Mind you, my dog at the time, did not have a habit of pooping in the house..........:):) |
We live on a cattle farm and when the boys were little, my oldest loved to walk in the fields and stomp in the mud puddles and cow patties (he was about 4 yrs old) my in-laws thought it was so cute that when you asked him what he was doing he would say stomping in the cow sh!t. :eek:Well needless to say I wasn't too thrilled about him saying a "bad" word. Well it came back to bite my MIL, she took DS to church with her on Sunday morning, he had a little bit of dirt on his shoes and she asked him what he had on his shoes, of course he said in a loud voice cow sh!t....she didn't think it was so cute anymore:p |
My DS is 6'6 and has ALWAYS loved food. In fact, when he was 15 we got a second refrigerator and he said it felt like Christmas :D One morning he had asked me to make him an egg sandwich. He loved the runny yolks running out the ends  On his way out of the kitchen he said "Mom....just dont forget that I'm "black toast intolerant"!! :sidesplt: I still die laughing over that one :D |
My little nephew just turned three. He asked his mom yesterday, "When is the Easter guy coming?" and his mom said, "Easter GUY, you mean the Easter bunny, don't you?" He looked at her like she was crazy and said, "What? You mean a RABBIT brings us candy?" |
I love reading all these stories, I get a chuckle with each one. |
One Sunday in church after the minister said a prayer and the congregation said amen, my 1 year old son piped up and loudly said M&M. I think he thought that's what everyone said. Everyone in church was laughing. I had another son that couldn't pronounce a g if it was the first letter of a word till he was probably 7 or 8 years old. One day a neighbor came over to look at a pony we had and I invited her in for iced tea. While we were sitting at the table talking, my son came in, took one look at the really large glass she had and said "what a fat @ss". She jumped up, told me to teach my son some manners and left. I tried very hard to tell her he meant the glass, but she bolted out side so fast. |
I love these stories!!! When my daughter was about 3 yrs old we were discussing the fact that my sister was having a baby. I told my son that I wanted to be surprised and wait until he was born to find out what he was. My daughter's eyes light up and she say's "Did you think I was a puppy when I was in your belly?" I still tease her to this day about this.:D |
We had a ROFL moment tonite. My daughter (18) was on a website (looking for showing and handling information) She was almost cussing and instantly got very upset and angry. She found what appeared to be a bunch of classified ads trying to buy and sell kennels and a lot of different breeds. she said "mom I can not stay quiet, and I know all these puppy mill people are going to hate me" I asked her what website she was on.. she told me so I looked at it, It was a game...LOL almost instantly she says "MOM, don't you dare post this one on YT!" She was reading this thread with me earlier today:D |
i made my 4 and 6 year old stay inside the other day because they had misbehaved the day before. when my 6 year old got home from school and i reminded her she had to go to her room, she said, "you are just speaking to your inner voice." WHAT!? (she had asked me what the word conscience meant a few weeks before and i explained it.) she said, "your conscience is saying, "no, mommy, nooo...don't let your kids go outside." |
i have another...my daughter is full of it. yesterday she told me her brother had tried to kill her because he grabbed her neck and almost made her DIE! she was crying her eyes out when she was telling. she said, sobbing, "he brokeded my heart!" i was consoling her and she kept talking...."when your heart brokes, you stay in bed for a week and cry. you cry when it rains and when it snows." i think she was meaning that it takes a long time to get over a broken heart (maybe describing the seasons). she said she felt her heart jumping around because it was broken in pieces and that's why she felt it moving around. she was really crying tears and barely breathing the whole time she was saying this. i said, how do you know about a broken heart? she said she saw a lady whose husband left her on a movie we watched and her heart was broken. |
My mom used to tell this one on me: One day I was hungry and trying to hurry my mom and mammaw to give me something to eat. Now we are country people so this expression is popular. My mammaw told me to "hold my horses". They sd I looked at her and said: I don't have any horses, but I'll hold my knife and fork. Not sure how old I was but not too old. |
I am so glad I started this thread! I love hearing stories like this! It always warms my heart and soul! |
Ok...I've only just joined the forum today and I might be banned on my very first day, but I have to tell you this as I'm still wetting myself over it. My son's 3 and yesterday I took him to the toilet and well...he had a stiffy when he pulled his pants down. He looked horrified, burst into tears and said 'Mummy! There's something wrong with my winky!' :lol tears |

i think my oldest must have seen the same movie where the husband left the wife..i remeber him talking about her broken heart. a week ago my oldest who is 5 was back talking and threw a fit and he said something so i made him hold soap in his mouth...oh he said was killing him..well he ran to his daddy when he was done which was 30 seconds, and told him that i was trying to kill him with poisonous soap and that i broke his heart.....aww make me feel bad! when he was 3 he gave my cell phone a bath in the toilet because he wanted to make it clean for me because thats how i like thing..lol and one last one..we were eating pizza the other night and my 2 year old just starts wailing and crying "i hurt i hurt..boo boo mama" i grab his hand and it covered in pizza sauce..and he is still crying so i wipe his hand clean and tell him its pizza sauce..he instantly stops crying 'aight moma bye!" and runs off |
Okay I've got another for you. My brother has had many many heart surgeries since he was three months old. When he was three or four he "found" his scar on his chest. He went to my mom, grandma and myself and said 'Look, look what my sisters (meaning the two younger than me but older than him) did to me!" my mom calmly asked "well what do you think they did to you?" his response was "the cut me open with scissors! and I'm gonna get them back!" he was really angry. We all burst into laughter which made him even more angry. My mom had to sit down and explain to him that my sister did not cut him open. It took my grandpa who also had open heart surgery to show him his scar to calm him down. |
My bf has two nephews. The older one is 6 now. Since he was very young, my bf would do a thing called the "super jump". He holds his nephew under his armpits, and the nephew charges up his feet (stomping) and then "jumps" really far, while my bf lifts and carries him about 10 feet or so. We were visiting at their house the other day and they were super jumping in the hall. At the end of the hall is a crucifix hanging on the wall. After the first jump he says, "Again! super jump me all the way to Jesus!" sooo cute. |
These are cute - I remember picking my son up from pre-school and he must have just found out the name 'Richard' has a short version....Dick. (no laughing - we all know someone named 'dick' right ? Well....he gets in the car with me and looks over with the most serious face and says "Mom ? Can I tell you something?" I'm like ...."of couse honey - what do you want to tell me" ? he said in this somber voice..."I'm so glad you named me Reid and not Richard" so I asked "Why are you so glad ?" and he says..." I just am" I had to hold in my laughter cause I knew exactly what he was trying to tell me and no way was he going to say the D word in front of mommy :D |

You know the saying - TAKE A LONG WALK OFF A SHORT PIER" One day my boys were scrapping over something.....my youngest (about 6 at the time) with the maddest huffy face he could muster .....screamed to his older brother ..... TAKE A SHORT WALK OFF A LONG PIER ! and went stomping off..... My oldest and I fell out - which made him even madder cause we were laughing Both my kids who are now grown remember it like it was yesterday....and we still say it to each other :D |
My son asked my mother in law where her broom was  she said why, he said cause my mom said your a witch so I was just wondering  That was 15 yrs ago and I love my MIL more today than ever... :D |
