WEAR ABC 3 A 24-year old Marine officer has been arrested for strangling his fiancé's basset hound to death. Jamie Maldonado's fiancé says this is not the first time he attacked her dog. Earlier this year, she told investigators Maldonado had thrown the dog across the room. Maldonando has been charged with a third-degree felony.

That is disgusting, Why did she take so long to report him? Did she not think he would try again!! UGH... Poor dog!! :-(

So sad what some animals have to go through just because their an easy
target for some one's unstable behavior. The first time he threw that poor
dog across the room should have been enough for her to get rid of him.
Amazing the service has not noticed his "Issues". Hope the dog will be ok
and hope she say bye-bye to this creep. He certainly needs help.

Unfortunately the poor baby did not make it. God took him home to a place that is safe from this cruel world.

Why do people think it is ok to be mean to pets. If you wouldn't do it to a human baby don't do it furbabies. I hope he gets what he deserves.

I am the basset hounds mommy :( I admit I acted like an idiot after he broke her leg while I was at work, but I stayed with him so we could get her surgery done and we made plans to take her home (to MD to live with my parents) at the end of this month. I was engaged to him, i trusted and loved him... I was blind. My mistakes have been the cause of my babys death. He never touched my yorkie, willow was so sweet and loving I am blown away. My baby is gone, and instead of dwelling on it, I have to try and move on. Everyones support has meant so much, God has given me unbelievable strength. I miss willow more and more every day. I still have my yorkie, he grew up with her and I know there is a deep hole in his heart... they were best buds. Thank you everyone for your support! Court trials are in the making, I pray he gets what he deserves.

Hon, if you were engaged to him, you have surely dodged a huge bullet. Someone that will do that to an animal will do that to a child, and a spouse. Your Willow died to possibly save your life and that of a future baby.

At first I assumed that you must be kidding! Bad joke or something but I looked at your other posts and sure enough there are pictures of this CREEP with you that are posted. You are saying that your BF threw your dog across the room, then he broke his leg and now he strangled it to death. :eek: You have to move on? :thumbdown I have no words to even say. :(

Can I ask WHY you stayed with an animal abuser ?

I can understand your shock if this was a one time thing - but you obviously knew he's already terribly hurt an innocent animal .....I don't mean to be blunt but what he did is sickening. How do you know he never hurt your yorkie ? In my opinion - it's doubtful ...anyone who can throw a dog let alone strangle one has evil in them...it's only a matter of time before he kills someone

I hope you're long gone from this 'man'. I use that term lightly.

That poor poor dog. :(

I have 1 piece of advice that was given to me at a very young age.

If you play the victim...........then you will be continually victimized!

My dear, when someone beats you, or your loved ones, you do not forgive them, no matter what "love" you feel for them, as they obviously DO NOT feel the same for you; otherwise they would never have acted in that fashion. Please take heed of this message, as the next time it could be you, or worse, your children!

This is absolutely terrible. I hope he is kicked out of the service and goes to prision. I know that nothing can bring your baby back, but like someone else said, it's probably a blessing is disguise. I hope that you and your yorkie can find a better life living with your parents.

Maybe I'm missing something here...but, is the young man in lilbuffalo3308's Album the same man shown in the new article about the strangled Basset Hound...it to me looks nothing like the same man...:confused:

There's also no mention in the article of lilbuffalo3308 owning a Yorkie as well as the Basset Hound either.

Something sounds odd here...:rolleyes:

We hear awful stuff on the news but rarely here on this forum - what that lowlife did was uncomprehensible....if someone can strangle their own dog :(- it's not a big leap to a human

I am saying prayers for you and hope you are receiving some serious counseling, especially in the area of understanding the cycle of abuse.

That said, I hope justice is served for Willow in court soon.

Excuse me... I know this reply is delayed but I just now read all of your responses to my post about it being my dog! Are you kidding me? Would I lie and try to get attention from complete strangers if this were not my precious bassett hound who was killed!!!!! The reason my profile says Missouri is because that is where I lived when I joined this site and got my yorkie AND bassett hound willow. The guy in the pictures was the man I was with when I got both of them, clearly not the man who I was engaged to who killed willow. Im sorry, pass judgement where you want. But, I posted on this site because the support here was great, and all I got after voicing myself was doubt of if I were really that girl. My life has flipped upside down, my baby was killed and my heart torn out. The last thing I needed was to be questioned.
