Divorce tomorrow!!!!
 
Just wanted to let everyone know that I go tomorrow for my divorce finally!!! My nerves are getting the best of me. Can't wait to get this over and done with so I can get on with life. Thanks for listening...

GOOD luck !

I remember that day so well with my 1st husband - We went out that night to celebrate..people in the restaurant were laughing at us - they couldnt believe we were out together the day our divorce was final and got along so well. :D

The last time we were together was my sons wedding and people were asking us 'Are you guys REALLY divorced' :D I'll always have a place in my heart for him. (don't anyone tell HIM that though !)

Friends of mine just finalized their divorce and they get along better now than they have in the past 2 years.

Congratulations on doing what is best for you! I have been there, and it was gut-wrenching at times. But it was the right thing to do, and I am a better person for it.

Do something nice for yourself today. Get a facial or a pedicure, buy something cute. You deserve it.:)

Well it is done!! I wish that I drank or smoked or something but alas my furbabies keep me from those silly things. Thank you ladies for the well wishes.
I get to keep the furbabies and he gets his prized Buzz Aldren beanie baby if I can find the darn thing. I get the house he gets the mobile home him and his GF are living in in Orlando. :rolleyes: And I get the my maiden name back!!!:D and of course the rest of my life to enjoy without that 300 pounds of extra weight;)

Congratulations. When my parents divorced about 25 years ago, my father had moved to Florida with his girlfriend before we even knew there was a girlfriend, so Fla must be the "going state". I say Let Fla. have 'em!!

I found out about the girlfriend and kicked his butt to the curb after 20 years. She left her hubby of 25 years for him..They have a great future ahead and they deserve each other. And yes, let Florida have em..lol

My son's divorce
 
my son's divorce will be final on the 22nd of this month I can't wait!! he still hope they will get back together, she carried on with a man 28 years older than her!! they were all room mates for over a year !! they have 2 kids one is 2 years old and the other is 5 years. I feel for the kids but say she doesn't need to come back -- we don't trust her.

I was married 18yrs the first time, had a crick in my neck for the last 5yrs of it, chiropractor, regular doctor, no one could make it go away...hurt like a bitch. the day of my divorce, I walked out of the courthouse, the birds were chirping, the sun was shining, and my neck felt fine for the first time in 5yrs... egad I felt good!!!! Congratulations!!! Enjoy the new life!!!

I do feel great. Hard to explain unless you have been there. I can take a deep breath and sigh. Biggest thing was getting to keep all the furbabies and not let him pick 2 of the 4. That would have killed me. I am ready for my new life:cool:

Lol that's funny, I'm the same way with my first husband. We even went down to the same lawyer together and had it done. Even the lawyer couldn't believe how amicable we both were with each other! We are much better friends than we were husband and wife! To the OP, if this makes you happy, I'm happy for you! God have a big drink tomorrow to celebrate!

LOL thanks for drinking for me!! He is leaving for Florida Sunday. Finally came by to see the kids...had been here since Wednesday and had not even called them. That is the hard part of it all. I am so much happier and better off but the kids are the ones that suffer. They are 18, 18, 19, 21 but still kids in my mind. The furbabies never liked him that much anyway..lol..they are great judges of character. I feel so much lighter today and the sun is shining..a new day for sure.

Funny, we were 9, 15,& 19 when he left. And had been married 23yrs. I think he was 44 yrs old at the time. And the girlfriend was a little older than him and was married a long time as well with older kids. BOO to them all!

Just saw your thread, congratulations for standing up for yourself! What you have done requires an enormous amount of courage, and I commend you for that. :thumbup:
Life is hard enough without a "30 something" kid around dragging you down, or expecting you to be a floor mat!
Thanks goodness you got all your babies, that would have been my one concern as well.

I wish you luck and health on the new road ahead of you! It sounds to me like you will do just fine, as you have a great attitude about your life already!

Thank you!! It is sinking in slowly but just to say "My Ex husband feels so great I cannot even explain it!":D Now I can begin to focus on ME:). Had gastric bypass surgery a year ago and have lost 75 pounds and have 30 to go...but losing him was even better;)
