Backyard Birders ~ Arbor for feeding station...vinyl or wood? I have a large window where I can view my bird feeding station on the east side of the house. I would like to fancy up this station by integrating an arbor or small pergola. The problem is, I would really like the arbor to be white. If I go vinyl, there would be little to no maintenance. If I go painted wood, I'll have to paint it to keep it looking nice. I could go wood for the sake of the birds, but I think white would look better against the house. My question is, can birds actually land and perch on vinyl? And if you have a vinyl arbor, do you think it will hold the heavier feeders? The arbor you linked looks sturdy enough to support heavy feeders. |
