Where/How to Give to Help Yorkies
 
There are so much animals out there in need here a yorkietalk we love our animals is it possible to set up a fund where we can donate monthly even a dollar in an account to help the animals out there even our own there are some members hear Im sure from time to time that need help we have so many members that even a dollar a month could do a lot of good and show that this forum is truly about good people that love our canine friends

We have talked a lot about creating a fund...but it's so complicated to make it happen fairly, legally, and safely. This is where I donate monthly to help animals in immediate crisis (ie, health/rescue crisis):

Yorkie Haven Rescue (they have monthly subscription via PayPal :))
Best Friends Animal Society
AZ Humane Society (our local shelter)

Do others have suggestions?

My donations also go to Yorkie Haven Rescue and to the local shelters. :thumbup:

I love how the members here on YT help each other out, but I can't imagine the difficulties involved in setting up a charitable tax exempt organization with such widespread members. It's great that you've brought the thought of giving to our attention - thank you!! :)

Yorkie Haven just started a new program were you can set up a recurring monthly donation through Paypal. You can set the amount as well as the date of your donation.

Also, another great way to donate is to use Igive when she shop and search on line http://www.igive.com/html/tellafriend.cfm

There are many on line merchants that will donate for shopping with them to the charity of your choice! It is so cool because it tells me how much my searches and purchases have gone to YHR! There are specials all the time too that will give a larger % to your charity.

There have also been members that have donated blankets, bows, crafts that also helped raise money for the rescue!

So I guess my point would be there are many different ways to help! :)

Always look at the websites of the rescues that you support. Many of them have links to merchants that, when used, generates money for the rescue!

Yorkie Haven has links down the left side of the home page to merchants who will donate a portion of sales to the rescue. In order for this to occur, you must use those links when shopping from those merchants!

YHR has an Amazon link that generates quite a nice amount of money for the Haven pups! I always encourage Amazon shoppers to use that link.

That's GREAT to hear !! Back when I was doing alot of Lable orders I would donate a portion of what I made to a rescue -

I'd love to start doing it again and just re-did my Ad in the Products for Sale section - if I get things rolling I'll be donating !
