I wonder.... ... What would my boss do if I got up and said I'm leaving. And I left for the day... would I be able to come back tomorrow? :p You guys have no idea how much I want to just get up and leave, today, everyday. I don't HATE my job... I just work for Cybil and a guy I work with I CANNOT stand. I'm BORED all time, and any new 'duty' I get is just that a 'duty'. I was hired to be an application developer, now I do the crappiest, monotonous most boring jobs. I hate to sound snooty, but I am VERY ambitious and spent too much money on my education to be doing this crap work. I applied to 3 jobs today. Please WISH me luck. Almost anything has to be better than this. With the economy things are tough and tight right? Well... I am OK with all the things they took away from us benefits-wise and all the pay cuts.. what I'm not ok with is the digression of my work. From developer to answering the phones, although I did not get a paycut for that I'm now overpaid for the work I've been doing. (I am taking a paycut for unpaid time off along with the rest of the company.) Its soooo aggravating! |
Hang in there but keep going after the jobs you want. NOTHING is more miserable then being in a job you hate....so keep mailing out your resume. I feel for you... |
Good Luck! Life is too short to be miserable. |

I really feel for those who have been out of work for so long. Its so hard and sad that parts of the country are in that situation. They say MA has one of the highest unemployment rates, yet I see jobs and apply for them often. I WANT to say I feel so lucky to have a job... but I don't. When you are exploited and not treated fairly or right, you do wonder if you'd be better off unemployed and free to keep searching for jobs. Right now those that ARE working are taking huge hits too. They live in fear of layoffs and when they are spared they pick up the work of those laid off for no more pay, but actually take paycuts to avoid more layoffs. Their benefits disappear and morale is so low that the environment is extremely volatile. By the end of an 8 hour day you are burnt out and stressed to the max. Its really a catch-22 situation... yes I'm glad I have a job, but its not the easiest thing to be working in this economy either. |
At least for in my sector, business has been picking up steam, especially for developers. Hang in there! The job market always turns around. |
