Kristy, I am not really a baseball fan but I will root for ya! GO WHITE SOX! :) |
Mean, Kristy, just mean. Can you see the tear falling down my cheek? |
One more win & then its time for the World Series. Go Go Go Go White Sox! |
So sad, the Angels lost tonight. Boo Hoo! :( |
Sad? I don't feel the slightest bit sad :D |
Yes we are losing but it aint over til it is over. And while the Angels have not been playing worth a darn, there have been some very bad and controversial calls by the umps in this game. Tonight I was at the game at first base, and Steve Finley was called out, watch the replay and tell me again he was out. We got someone out and he was called safe. Also, AJ touched his glove to a pitch and it was called an out, that is against the baseball rules, and that dear sweet man DE (tonight he was at third base, after his shocking call the other night in Chicago) interfered with a play with Chone Figgins that got CWS a run and denied us an out. No we are not playing good ball, but some of these calls are outrageous, if you think that I am being a poor sport watch the replays!! GO ANGELS AND GET SOME GLASSES AND GO BACK TO UMP SCHOOL, DOUG. |

Go Cubs!!!! but I'll take the White Sox for now. The Angels had some of the worst calls made against them in the history of baseball. |
Millie, what about the one they will be talking about for a lifetime in the 9th - 3 outs and the Angels win, they are coming off the field went the Ump had called strike 3 and then said catcher didn't pick up ball and rerun showed he did. You could see the Ump in the rerun motioning the batter to run(Geeeeeeeeez)is that allowed?? and I'm for the OTHER team and could see this. |
Everyone could see what happened, but there were also a few calls last night (Saturday night) that DEFINITELY were for the Angels. I feel bad that happened on the drop third strike call, but let me remind everyone one of something -- After that, Pablo Ozuna stole 2nd. There was NO THROW down there; the Angels were ASLEEP. Then, the Angels pitcher had Joe Crede 0-2 and hung one in the zone and allowed him to hit a double to the left field wall. That's stupid baseball on the Angels part. The game wasn't over when Doug Eddings made that bad call. It was over when the Angels lost their composure and played like little leaguers afterward. They're MAJOR LEAGUERS for Christ's sake. |
Yes, I want to be a sportswriter, but anyway, just a couple more things to say. Last night's game when there was supposed catcher's interference, why did Steve Finley RUN TO FIRST??? He should have stood there and pointed to Pierzynski and sold it to the ump instead of running to 1st like he hit a dribbler to the right side on his own accord. |
Can I just say that I LOVE Freddy Garcia? I saw him pitch in Seattle years ago ;) I was on game watch for my dad last night who kept calling me for updates for him and the guys he works with! ;) One more Kristy! |
Watch the replays First: AJ was out, every replay and every sportswriter agrees, DE made a change in his call and that was not fair. If you are truly interested in Mr. Eddings I suggest that you read his resume and prior articles on him at a website named Firedoug. com. Very interesting, not the first time our Dougy boy has been controversial. From there, Crede would not have been at bat at all at the time that he was, the Angels would have been up. Anything at that point could have taken place. AJ nicked Steve's bat, after last week's unbelievable call at home plate, Steve looked to the ump to call interference, he didn't which caused Steve to delay running (bad choice) to be out at first. AJ says he nicked his bat. That said, watch the next replay on Erstad tagging Podsednik out at first, called safe by ump, replay and being there in person at first base, three rows from the field, he was clearly out. Then there was Doug Eddings interference in being between Chone Figgins and Garrett Anderson with a hit above third, I was there, and you should have seen Mr. Eddings, he clearly put himself inbetween the guys, this guy is an idiot. No, we are playing lousy ball (I am at the game tonight, go Angels, please remember that in 2002 we came back in GAME 7 to take the World Series) but the biased bad calls by these umps are the worst I have seen in 25 years of attending games. That said, the CWS are playing terrific ball, if they win, good luck to them, all though I favor the Cards cause they have the Molina brother as catcher and our very own David Ekstein (an alltime Angel favorite) as shortstop. Also, in 25 years of attending ball games at Angel Stadium, watching Yank fans and the BoSox fans who can get radical, I have never seen so many drunk, obnoxious fans in my life as the CWS fans. For the first time in my baseball "career" I saw security actually sit with a group of CWS fans for three full innings after their behavior was so bad that some people took their children and left the game and then have the police take them off to jail for foul language, throwing things, and actually assaulting a young woman and her two children, the one child was in hysterics. I was there, and if I had not seen it myself I would not have believed it. We rarely have such a strong police presence at the stadium as we have had for the last two games, and it has been (in my experience) the CWS fans that are totally out of control. The fans that were sitting by me and MY GRANDKIDS were totally obnoxious Jerry Springer types. I heard more four letter words and foul language in two hours than I have heard in the last 20 games I attended. I was at last Monday's night win against the Yanks and when a Yank fan got out of control, Angel fans actually bought the guy a beer, commiserated with him and turned it into an ok thing. These CWS fans actually presented a white monkey (our Rally Monkey) with fake blood on it and its head hanging off to a 4 year old child. Outrageous!!!! Now I realize that not all CWS fans are like that, but the real CWS fans should be ashamed at what seems to be representing them at these games (I have been to every game every night this week here in Anaheim). Out of whack totally! That said, it aint over til the fat lady sings, and she aint sung just yet. Go Angels |
and as an aside I have almost nine grandkids, I took the three oldest ones to the game last night and had promised to take the three younger ones (the other two are under two years of age) tonight for which I have paid a large amount of money for the tickets, I will not be taking them because of the behavoir seen at last nights game, so I have to hurry as I am taking them to play miniature golf to make up for not taking them to the game. |
