Well, she is now officially in her forever home, with a ton of thanks to Valley Dogs Rescue, who did her listing for me and payed for her spay - while we fostered her.

To honor Ambrey and Valley Dogs Rescue, I'm participating in the PetSmart PetWalk on February 21st - and I'm part of the Valley Dogs Team.

This is MY PETWALK PAGE :). If you want to sponsor me and Valley Dogs by donating $1, or $5, or whatever, or just have your yorkie stop by my page and drop off a KISS, I'd love that too :p.

{I wasn't sure if this was okay to post, but I ran it by Admin, who said people have posted before for the breast-cancer walks and/or other walks for charity, so I was given the okay :)}

woah what did i miss??? When did she go to her forever home???? Did you meet them- are they super wonderful people???

Oh yes, I met them, they had to be approved by me :D! They spent 2 hours at our house meeting Ambrey, and then we did their home visit (w/ a Valley Dogs member, who knows how to do those :p).

The family is amazing - a married couple w/ a 10 yr. old girl, 7 yr. old boy, big back yard. Ambrey sleeps w/ Mom and Dad :). Mom is a stay-at-home Mom, so Ambrey is with her all day long. We saw them again at Petsmart on Saturday (after their 2wk trial) and they're all doing incredible. Ambrey's fur has grown completely over her head wounds. She might be at the PetWalk w/ Valley Dogs too!

We really had a tough time letting her go...at the same time, we feel really blessed that we brought her together w/ her forever family, bc they are wonderful - and I email w/ her new Mom :).

I just did $5. Sorry, I would do more but I'm a little low on money after the boys' vet trips.

..And just to clarify, I did this for Ambrey.. not for you, whatsoever.

Aw, I'm SO happy to hear about Ambrey. :) I was wondering what happened to her and was looking at your old thread before! She deserved a great home.

Is this Petsmart Petwalk thing all over the US or just your specific Petsmart?

I think I was in denial for many, many days :rolleyes:. I kept emailing her new Mom "are you really, really SURE everything is okay, do you want me to come GET HER" :D...okay, no I didn't really say that...but we did email a lot :).

Good question - it's their 2nd annual event, and here is the PetWalk's "home page"...I wonder if this is just in Phoenix, since PetSmart Charities is based from here...? Gosh, I thought this was a Nat'l event, I'm glad you asked!

What a wonderful story...you know they need more help with small dog rescue in Phoenix...I can get you a name if you are interested. I think you would be just fabulous...:D

What a beautiful story! Thank you, Ann, for saving her! She is a beauty and I am so glad she has a wonderful home!
