It's Been A Busy Day!

It’s been a very busy day,
Here in puppy land….....
Running all around the house,
Exploring everything I can.

Being a puppy is lots of fun,
But it’s hard work too!
Chasing balls, exploring, and
chewing Mommy’s shoe.

Did you know that bath tissue,
Will roll and roll and roll?
And the smaller that the roll becomes
the faster it will go!

Chewing nylon stockings,
Will leave a great big hole!
And I leave pawprints on the floor,
From playing in my water bowl!

I also learned that water bowls,
don’t work when upside down……
I made quite a mess you see,
Oh, I thought that I would drown!

Newspaper is the best toy yet!
It shreds and shreds and shreds.
And has a most delightful noise,
As I chew it into threads.

Second best toys are pillows,
The soft and fluffy kind,
When Mom saw the mess I made
She nearly lost her mind!

The trash can caused quite a problem,
It tipped over so easily!
And when it tipped, I got scared,
‘Cause this icky stuff fell me!

Yes, it’s been quite a busy day,
Now I think it’s time to rest……
Mom will be home soon,
And I want to look my best.

Oops! Mom came in and saw the mess,
She swatted my little rear,
Then she smiled, and picked me up,
And held me very near.

I heard a terrible noise outside....
My Mom said that it was thunder.
She said it wouldn’t hurt me,
Still, I couldn’t help but wonder.

The thunder scared me badly,
I was trembling with fear,
Then my Mom picked me up,
And whispered in my ear.

It may take a little while,
But I know I’ll quickly learn,
The things I’m not supposed to do,
Like chew on Mommy’s fern.

I’m still a tiny puppy,
There’s lots that I don’t know.
But my kind and loving master,
Will teach me as I grow.

I did not write the poems. My sister inlaw found them and sent them to me. Thought I would share them with all of you.

I REALLY liked that poem. Sounds just like a puppy. And it is quite true, he will learn from his mom.
