Operation Roger...helping small animals get to their new homes Hi My husband & I drive a semi truck as a team delivering across the US. I came across a group who help small animals get to their "new" homes by using drivers of all sorts (semis, rvs' & just folks who travel) to help rescues & those unfortunate to have lost their humans. They do NOT transport breeders' animals only those in need. I know there have been times when someone we know has run into a tough situation (someone in the service passes & a relative across the country adopts their pet for example) & have had a very hard time getting the animal where it needs to go. They are a non profit group. Even if you aren't interested, drop by the site & read "I rescued a Human Today" as it's a very good story (get the tissues ready!). Welcome to Operation Roger... That's great! |
It is, isn't it?! I'm really hoping DH & I can get involved somehow, even if it's just transporting a case of donated food or whatever to be shuttled to a rescue. |
What a wonderful volunteer service. So great that you might be able to help, too. Thanks for posting. :) |

I can't believe they've been doing this four years & I'm just now hearing about it. |

Mary, I think it deserves more publicity mostly because it's such a wonderful idea. So far, I haven't signed us up to help re-locate but that's mostly because Tuffy is still very new to our family. I like that they give people other ways to get involved too. |

Just so you know, I'm not affilliated with them in any way; just happened to see the article one day & thought it was a wonderful opportunity for us to help someone some day. (I'm like that, it gives me great pleasure to help others) |
