Food, Inc. Has anyone else ever seen this movie? What do you think about it? Official Food, Inc. Movie Site - Hungry For Change? (you can watch the trailer here) |
I havne't yet seen this one...and I want to...I just don't know if I'm ready at the moment. Have you watched it? I've seen the movie/documentary "Earthlings" and I'm so glad I watched it, but it tore me apart...not that I regret seeing it one bit, but you have to be willing to live with the after effects, know what I mean? Earthlings is narrated by Joaquin Phoenix and can be rented via Netflix (but not Blockbuster :(). It can viewed *free* at the website I linked to and can be purchased there and purchased other places as well. It is also available on DVD at libraries, for free. I bought one of their bumper stickers too (I like the simple message of their bumper sticker). |
I saw it when it was in theaters. It was very interesting. Nothing was too graphic from what I remember. A couple of things were a little sad but I don't think they were very long. |

this movie reminds me of the book "the skinny bitch" when they talked about FDA and gov't involvement in the food industry. i would definitely recommend you watch this movie. i think you would really find it interesting. in the film they talk a lot about the gov't and it's tie to the food industry; they also talk about monsanto. gosh, such an evil evil company in my opinion!!!!! you MUST watch it and tell me what you think afterwards!!!!! |

I would really like to watch food inc. too I am sure it will have alot more good info in it. I will try to watch it this week and then I'll let ya know, I think it is really important for people to be aware of all the stuff going on behind the scenes |
Thanks for the feedback, that's great! Now I do feel like I can see Food, Inc. right away, phew! AmyChristine...wow...isn't Earthlings just....life ALTERING...? I've said it before and will say it again: I really think it is the most important pieces of film I've ever seen in my life, period. I now own it...and I want my hubby to see it, so we'll be watching it soon - so it will be my 2nd time (phew...). I know it won't be much easier the 2nd time 'round, but... |

it's really hard. the reason i haven't watched earthling is because films like that tend to leave one feeling very depressed and feel like there is nothing effective one can do to improve the dire and horrible situation those animals are in! food, Inc. is kind of nice, because it really does try to make it more positive. so you don't have to feel so bad after watching the film. (and you also don't have to be afraid to watch the film) can't wait till you see it and see what you think of it. :) |

Now I'm excited to see Food Inc. - and sort of relieved too, bc Earthlings *is* tough, I won't deny it. Even though I did feel rather...helpless...afterward, I do feel that I take meaningful steps toward making the world a better place for animals. But oh, how I WISH I could make those steps GINORMOUS and IMMEDIATE. Oh how I hear you there... Cool...I just added Food Inc. to my Blockbuster Q :D! |
